Schedule the YouTube Live event in YouTube Studio, then use an encoder or cloud streaming service to send the playlist as a continuous live feed. Scheduling creates an upcoming event and watch page; it does not play or loop the playlist by itself. You must arrange the feed separately and, for a standard encoder workflow, confirm the preview and click Go live.
What scheduling does—and what it does not do
A scheduled event gives viewers a watch page they can find and share, and lets them opt into notifications. It is separate from the system that plays your devotional recordings and sends them to YouTube. A playlist only repeats if the encoder or streaming service is configured to loop it; do not assume that scheduling makes it repeat or start unattended.
YouTube supports software and standalone hardware encoders. Its encoder directory also lists Gyre as a cloud-based service for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming and CamStreamer as supporting continuous and scheduled streams. Check any provider’s current features and terms directly before relying on it. YouTube’s directory listing does not establish comparative reliability, recovery behavior, or pricing.
Check channel eligibility first
- Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
- YouTube’s current getting-started guidance sets a minimum age of 16 for livestreaming.
- First-time live streaming enablement may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the devotional program is due to begin.

Schedule the event in YouTube Studio
- Open YouTube Studio and select Create → Go Live.
- Open Manage, then select Schedule stream.
- Choose whether to reuse prior settings or create a new stream, then fill in the event details and schedule it.
- Copy the event’s watch URL to share with your audience. The scheduled page is the event destination; it is not the playlist feed.

Set up a playlist that can run continuously
- Choose the feed source. Use an encoder that can play the devotional recordings and send the resulting program continuously. This may be local software, standalone hardware, or a cloud-hosted streaming service.
- Build and test the playlist. Confirm the intended order, transitions, audio levels, and whether playback repeats at the end. A scheduled YouTube event does not supply this behavior.
- Enter YouTube’s connection details. In the encoder, enter the stream URL and stream key shown for the event in YouTube Studio. Treat the key like a password; if it is exposed, reset it.
- Start the feed and check the preview. Start the encoder when ready, then verify that the correct video and audio appear in Live Control Room before selecting Go live.
- Monitor the stream. Check picture, sound, and the feed’s continuity rather than assuming that a successful start guarantees an uninterrupted long run.
YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before an event, starting it at least 15 minutes in advance, checking the preview, and monitoring audio and video quality. It also recommends upload bandwidth with 20% headroom above the total stream bitrate. These are operational recommendations, not a guarantee of 24/7 uptime. Choose where the feed runs

The YouTube encoder directory identifies categories and listed services, but does not compare their service levels. Confirm present capabilities and terms with the provider. Do not treat an encoder’s ability to connect as proof that it will loop or recover as you need.
Protect the music rights before going live
Clear rights for every recording and composition in the playlist, including permission for livestream use. A track being devotional, publicly accessible, or already available on YouTube does not by itself establish that you may rebroadcast it.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches. If matched content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even if you have a license, a rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID for uninterrupted live use. YouTube’s livestream terms also place responsibility on the provider to have the necessary rights, including applicable music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and its livestream terms and conditions.
Understand the archive limitation
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. This does not establish that streams lasting longer will be archived, and it does not mean 12 hours is the maximum live duration. If you need an archive of a continuous program, check current YouTube guidance and test your intended workflow rather than relying on archive availability.

Troubleshoot common problems
- The event is scheduled, but nothing is playing. Scheduling creates the event, not the feed. Start the encoder or cloud service, confirm it is sending the intended program, and check the Live Control Room preview.
- The stream will not connect. Check that the encoder has the correct stream URL and current stream key. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder.
- The playlist stops at the last item. Check the encoder or service’s repeat setting. Scheduling does not enable looping.
- The stream starts late or the preview is missing. Start the encoder early enough to inspect the preview before selecting Go live; YouTube recommends starting at least 15 minutes before the event.
- Playback is unstable or drops. Check the connection and available upload bandwidth; YouTube recommends 20% headroom over the total stream bitrate. Confirm separately what recovery or restart behavior your chosen encoder provides.
- YouTube interrupts the stream over music. Review the matched content and verify livestream rights for both the recording and composition. If you are licensed, contact the rights holder about channel allowlisting through Content ID.
- No archive appears for a long program. YouTube’s stated automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours; longer-stream archive availability is not established by that statement.

Does YouTube automatically loop my devotional playlist?
No. Looping is a function of the encoder or streaming service, not the scheduled event. Configure and test it before relying on continuous playback.
Will a continuous livestream be saved as a YouTube archive?
