To make that schedule work, choose between separate scheduled events, a cloud service that explicitly supports timed playlist changes, or custom automation—and confirm whether playlist changes keep one YouTube broadcast running or start a new event.
First decide what viewers should experience
There are two different setups people may mean by a “24/7 stream with day and night playlists.” In one, daytime and nighttime are separate scheduled events, each with its own YouTube event and playlist. In the other, a single continuous broadcast changes from one playlist to another at set times every day. YouTube’s documented scheduling workflow covers events, but does not document an automatic recurring switch between playlists inside one broadcast. YouTube’s encoder instructions explain scheduled streams and starting transmission; they do not establish that Studio provides a day/night playlist timetable.
- Separate events: useful when viewers can follow different event links and the encoder or service can start each event at the appropriate time.
- One continuing broadcast: requires a player or automation that can change playlists on a timetable. Verify the schedule, transition behavior, and continuity with the provider before relying on it.
Scheduling an event is not the same as transmitting video. In the documented encoder workflow, the event is scheduled in Studio, then the encoder connects and sends video when it is time to go live.
Option 1: Schedule separate daytime and nighttime events in YouTube Studio
This approach is suitable if the audience can move between two events rather than expecting one broadcast to change playlists without interruption.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Open YouTube Studio and enter the Live Control Room.
- Open Manage and select Schedule stream.
- Create an event for the daytime program. You can reuse prior stream settings or create a new stream.
- Create another event for the nighttime program, with its own title, start time, and other event details.
- At each scheduled start, connect the encoder using the event’s stream settings, start transmission, wait for the preview, and select Go live as described in YouTube’s encoder workflow.
- Share both event links in advance. YouTube notes that “Scheduling a stream lets you promote your stream”; viewers can use an event link to find it and set reminders.
Scheduling separate events does not itself assign or play a video playlist. The encoder or streaming service must supply the correct daytime or nighttime video. Nor does the reviewed YouTube documentation establish a recurring event calendar that automatically assigns different playlists to each event.
Option 2: Use a cloud playlist service for prerecorded programming
A cloud playback service can send uploaded videos to YouTube without keeping your own computer online for the broadcast. The key requirement is not merely “24/7” in a product description: ask whether it supports a repeating day/night timetable, whether it changes playlists within one broadcast or creates separate events, what happens at the playlist boundary, and how it recovers from interruptions.

| Service | What its documentation states | What to verify for a day/night schedule |
|---|---|---|
| OneStream Live | Its help page says 24/7 prerecorded YouTube streaming requires Enterprise and allows a maximum duration of 30 days. OneStream Live’s 24/7 instructions | Current plan terms, recurring schedule support, and whether separate playlists can switch on a timetable. |
| Restream | Its Help Center article, dated July 25, 2026, states that a playlist can be up to 24 hours and contain up to 40 videos; access is tied to paid Upload & Stream add-on tiers. Restream’s playlist instructions | Whether back-to-back events provide the desired continuity, and whether day/night recurrence and playlist changes are supported. |
| Looping Stream | It describes continuous playlist broadcasts from cloud workers to YouTube or RTMP destinations without a personal computer left online. Its site describes a seven-day introductory offer with 24 total hours; verify current offer terms with the vendor. Looping Stream | Current plan terms and whether a repeating day/night timetable can be configured. |
| Streamloop | Its site says streams can have a start and end time or run indefinitely, and playlists can be sequenced or shuffled and edited while live. Streamloop | Whether its scheduling supports the exact recurring YouTube timetable and transition behavior required. |
These descriptions are not interchangeable: for example, OneStream Live states a 30-day maximum for its 24/7 feature, while Restream describes playlists capped at 24 hours and 40 videos. Ask each vendor to confirm current limits, cost, start and recovery behavior, playlist duration, and whether a transition leaves the same YouTube event open.
Option 3: Build custom scheduling with the YouTube Live Streaming API
For a bespoke system, the YouTube Live Streaming API reference distinguishes scheduled broadcasts, represented by liveBroadcast resources, from outgoing transmissions, represented by liveStream resources. A live stream can be bound to multiple broadcasts. That resource model can support custom event scheduling, but it does not supply a prerecorded-video playlist player or automatically implement timed playlist changes. Your application still needs to deliver the video, coordinate the schedule, and handle transitions and failures.

Questions to settle before choosing a workflow
- One event or two? Decide whether a playlist change may end one event and start another, or whether the audience needs a single ongoing broadcast.
- How precise is the timetable? Check the time zone, recurrence rules, and behavior during daylight-saving changes if applicable.
- What happens at a boundary? Confirm whether playback switches cleanly, briefly pauses, restarts the event, or needs manual action.
- What happens on failure? Ask whether the service retries automatically if YouTube drops the connection, and whether it resumes the right playlist and event.
- How much programming is needed? Compare maximum run duration, total playlist length, video-count limits, and storage.
- Can you promote both programs? If using separate events, share the right scheduled event links so viewers can find each program and set reminders.
- Will the content remain eligible and authorized? Use video you have the rights to stream, and review YouTube’s current rules for copyright and reused content before building a continuous schedule.
