You can keep an Urdu podcast stream running from a Windows PC by sending an encoder feed to YouTube Live Control Room and monitoring the PC, internet connection, audio and stream health. YouTube does not guarantee that a particular computer or connection will stay online indefinitely. For a stream that must continue while your PC is off, a cloud service such as StreamNeo is an alternative after the do-it-yourself setup below.
Before you set up the stream
- Check channel access: YouTube’s guidance says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Confirm live access in YouTube Studio before configuring the encoder. YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance
- Prepare the program: Have the Urdu spoken-word recording or live audio source ready, along with any visuals you plan to show. If the program includes music or other third-party material, confirm you have the rights for both the live broadcast and its archive.
- Plan for power and connectivity: The Windows PC and network must remain available while you stream. A restart, power loss, encoder failure or internet interruption can stop the feed, so arrange monitoring and recovery rather than assuming the stream will run indefinitely.
Create a YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow. The exact controls can vary with YouTube’s interface and stream configuration.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. In your Windows encoder, select YouTube as the service if it is available, or enter the URL and key manually. Treat the key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream.
- If you will run recurring broadcasts, YouTube allows a custom stream key to be reused. Keep it private and verify that the selected key in the encoder matches the one for the intended stream. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions
Configure the encoder for stable Urdu audio and video
Use settings your upload connection and PC can sustain, not the highest available numbers by default. YouTube recommends testing upload capacity and testing with audio and movement similar to the intended broadcast. For H.264 video, its published guidance recommends constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval, not exceeding four seconds. It lists AAC or MP3 audio and recommends 128 Kbps stereo audio. YouTube’s encoder settings

These are YouTube’s published recommendations, not a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming or a claim that every PC and network can support those settings. If the feed stutters or stream health deteriorates, reduce the video bitrate or resolution and test again.
Start with a test and monitor the broadcast
- Start the encoder and wait for the incoming preview in YouTube Live Control Room. Confirm that the correct Urdu audio and intended video are arriving before making the stream public or starting the scheduled broadcast.
- Check the stream-health indicator, listen for clean speech, and watch for dropped or frozen video. Test with the kind of audio and motion the real program contains; a static title screen alone may not reveal issues that occur during playback.
- Monitor the Windows PC, encoder and internet connection during the broadcast. YouTube’s live tips advise continuous monitoring for audio and video quality. Choose between one long stream and shorter sessions
A single long broadcast keeps the channel’s live feed continuous, but it creates an archive risk. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If preserving a YouTube replay matters, plan shorter sessions. If the live feed must stay continuous, keep a local recording as a separate backup and do not rely on YouTube’s archive as your only copy. YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance

For a local backup, use the encoder’s recording option if available and verify that the recording file grows during the test. Ensure the PC has enough free storage for the intended session, and check that the file is playable before relying on it. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup; a recording stored on the same PC is still vulnerable to that PC’s failure.
Clear rights for Urdu podcast material
Urdu narration does not remove copyright obligations. You need the appropriate rights for content in both the live broadcast and any archived version, including music, recordings, images or clips you did not create or license. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream if it detects a match. Troubleshoot common interruptions
