You can run a Hindi devotional music stream on YouTube with vMix by preparing a playlist, connecting vMix to a YouTube live stream, and testing playback and transitions before leaving it unattended. The main caveats are that the exact endless-loop procedure depends on your installed vMix version, YouTube may interrupt music that triggers a rights match, and a continuous stream longer than 12 hours is not guaranteed a complete YouTube archive.
Choose how to connect vMix to YouTube
There are two documented routes. Create or schedule the stream in YouTube Studio if you want to manage its schedule and settings there, or use vMix’s YouTube Live Stream Now destination to create and start a stream from vMix. The controls and stopping behavior differ, so choose before configuring the production.

Prepare YouTube and your devotional playlist
- Enable live streaming ahead of launch. YouTube says first-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours. Start the process in advance rather than planning to go live immediately.
- Create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio, or choose Stream Now in vMix. For the Studio route, copy the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio into the corresponding vMix connection settings. The vMix integration can also create or select a stream. Follow the current interface in your installed versions of YouTube Studio and vMix.
- Prepare the media. Add the recorded devotional music and any accompanying video to your vMix production. The vMix User Guide documents playlist items with start time, duration, and transition settings. Check that every item has the intended timing and that transitions do not create unwanted gaps or overlaps.
- Check rights before adding tracks. Clear the specific recordings and compositions for this live use, as explained below. Do not treat a track’s “free” label or an attribution requirement as proof that it is licensed for streaming.
Set video and audio quality for your system
vMix supports H.264 video and AAC audio over RTMP. Choose resolution and bitrate using current YouTube encoder guidance, your source material, and a real test on the computer and upload connection you intend to use. The available documentation does not establish one universally suitable bitrate or resolution for a Hindi devotional playlist.
Before broadcasting publicly, run a private or unlisted test and inspect the result in YouTube Studio. Confirm that video and audio play as expected, levels are audible without distortion, and transitions look and sound right. A setting that works for one computer or internet connection is not proof that it will remain stable on another.

Test playlist continuity before going unattended
The vMix guide documents playlist timing and transitions, but the reviewed documentation does not verify a universal, version-independent sequence for repeating an entire playlist indefinitely. Do not assume a playlist automatically restarts at its end.
- In the vMix version you will use, build a test playlist with representative tracks and transitions.
- Observe playback through the final item and establish what that installed version does when the list ends.
- Test the repeat behavior you intend to rely on, including what happens after a restart. Confirm it in the actual output rather than relying on a setting name or assumption.
- Run a private or unlisted YouTube test long enough to check transitions and the playlist end. Monitor YouTube Studio for live status and any interruption.
- Write down the recovery steps and decide who will act if vMix, the computer, the connection, or YouTube stops the broadcast.
Continuity is an operational goal, not an uptime guarantee established by YouTube or vMix documentation. Hardware, bandwidth, backup internet, unattended restart behavior, and recovery requirements depend on the specific setup; test them rather than assuming a particular configuration will work.

Start the broadcast and confirm it is live
- Open the prepared production in vMix and connect using either the YouTube Studio stream URL and key or the vMix Stream Now destination.
- Start streaming from vMix.
- Check YouTube Studio for the live status and confirm the expected picture and sound are reaching the stream.
- Stay present through a playlist transition and the end-of-list test before treating the setup as ready for unattended operation.
Plan for copyright checks and interruptions
The operator is responsible for having the necessary rights for live content. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; if a match remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. YouTube also says that a license may not prevent a live interruption unless the rights owner has added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights owner how allowlisting works and confirm authorization before launch.
YouTube’s livestream terms state: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.” See YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.

- Keep written permission and records of the territories, uses, term, and channel authorization covered.
- Public-domain material or permission from the copyright owner can provide a basis for use, but verify the status of the particular composition and recording.
- Do not assume that attribution or a free download grants a streaming license. YouTube’s tips to find safe music do not determine the legal status of a particular bhajan, performance, or recording.
- Creator Music is not a dependable option for this scenario: YouTube’s usage guidance says its tracks are for long-form videos and cannot be used in live streams.

Choose how to preserve a replay
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement does not guarantee a complete archive for an uninterrupted 24/7 stream that exceeds 12 hours. If a complete replay matters, plan for an independent recording or divide the programming into shorter sessions, and verify the resulting recordings before relying on them.

Troubleshoot common problems
