You can run a 24/7 YouTube Live stream of recorded coaching lessons by sending prerecorded video through an encoder connected to YouTube Live. First verify the channel and enable live streaming; then choose a computer, cloud service, or dedicated encoder, configure a stream in YouTube Studio, test the full viewing path, and plan how you will monitor and restart it. A 24-hour feed needs more than a working stream key: confirm your encoder can schedule or loop lessons, clear rights to everything in the recordings, and decide how to handle archives and interruptions.
Before you start: check channel access and lesson rights
Enable live streaming early
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned launch. See YouTube’s live streaming requirements.
Review every recording for rights and permissions
The channel operator is responsible for having the necessary rights to the content in a live stream. Check lesson footage, slides, embedded music, film or television clips, guest appearances, and any participant contributions or identifying details. Choose how the stream will run
The key distinction is who operates the encoder and whether it can schedule or loop your lessons. YouTube supports encoder workflows, but its general encoder guidance does not establish that every encoder can loop a playlist indefinitely. Confirm the precise scheduling, looping, recovery, and monitoring features with the chosen product before depending on it for an all-day feed.

These are examples listed by YouTube, not endorsements or guarantees of continuous service. Compare them by who must keep equipment running, whether lesson playback can be scheduled or looped, how interruptions are handled, and what happens to archives.
Set up the YouTube Live event and encoder
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream and choose its visibility. Use the visibility that matches your teaching plan; verify who can access the watch page before sharing it.
- Configure the encoder connection. Copy the stream key and server URL shown for the event into the encoder’s corresponding fields. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it, share it with viewers, or reuse it carelessly. YouTube’s encoder guide describes the workflow.
- Load and configure the lesson video. Select the recordings or playlist and set the encoder’s schedule or loop behavior only after confirming that the product supports it. Check lesson order, transitions, audio, and what will play when the sequence reaches its end.
- Start a representative test stream. Use the same kind of lesson footage and audio planned for broadcast. Check the encoder output and YouTube Live Control Room preview, then open the watch page on more than one device, including a phone.
- Check stream health and sound as it runs. Confirm picture, audio, and stream status in YouTube’s tools and the encoder. YouTube recommends testing and continuously monitoring quality; a successful preview is not proof that an unattended 24-hour feed will remain uninterrupted. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.
Plan for continuity, interruptions, and archives
A working connection at launch does not by itself establish unattended continuity. YouTube recommends ongoing quality monitoring, and the cited guidance does not promise that a stream will stay live indefinitely. Arrange an operational check and decide who can respond if the encoder or YouTube connection drops. Confirm whether your chosen encoder resumes automatically, needs a manual restart, or requires a new event.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a single uninterrupted 24-hour event will be archived in the same way as a shorter stream. Decide whether to split the schedule into shorter events, how to restart the feed, and how to handle resulting archive files; check current behavior in YouTube Studio before relying on an archive plan. Troubleshoot common problems
- Live streaming is unavailable: confirm channel verification and eligibility, including whether a live-stream restriction occurred in the previous 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- The encoder will not connect: recheck the event’s server URL and stream key in YouTube Studio against the encoder fields. If the key has been exposed, replace it in Studio and update the encoder.
- The event appears in the preview but not where viewers expect: check the event’s visibility and watch page, then test the viewer link on a phone and another device before promoting it.
- Lessons stop or repeat incorrectly: inspect the encoder’s schedule and playlist settings, and verify that its current version supports the intended loop or restart behavior. Do not assume YouTube’s general encoder workflow supplies playlist looping.
- Audio or picture quality is poor: test the source recording and encoder output, check that audio is present and synchronized, and monitor the stream’s health while it runs. Use representative footage during testing so faults in the actual lesson format are caught.
- The stream ends or an archive is missing: check the encoder’s connection and recovery behavior, then review the event and archive status in Studio. For a 24-hour event, do not assume the automatic archive behavior documented for streams under 12 hours applies.
- A rights claim or permission concern arises: review the affected music, clips, slides, guest material, or participant content and resolve rights before rebroadcasting. The channel operator is responsible for necessary permissions.
