Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →You can run a prerecorded yoga nidra stream around the clock from a Linux VPS by looping rights-cleared media with FFmpeg, sending it to YouTube Live over RTMPS, and using a service manager such as systemd to restart the encoder if it exits. The VPS must sustain the chosen encoding workload and provide enough outbound data; a low sticker price alone does not establish that it is suitable. Test the complete setup and monitor YouTube’s stream health before relying on it.
How the VPS stream works
The signal path is: prepared video and audio files → FFmpeg loop and encoder → RTMPS over TLS → YouTube Live. FFmpeg runs continuously on the server, so your home computer does not need to stay on. A Linux service manager can launch FFmpeg at boot and restart it after a process failure, but neither guarantees that the media, network connection, VPS, or YouTube ingest will remain healthy.
Check YouTube readiness and rights first
Enable live streaming before launch day
YouTube’s live-streaming tips say the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours, so complete this step ahead of your planned start.
Clear every part of the program
You need the necessary rights to use your live content worldwide, including music rights. That applies to the nidra voice recording, music, ambient sound, artwork, and video footage—not only to the main visual. Use original material or content licensed for this use, retain evidence of permissions, and follow YouTube’s Community Guidelines and applicable law. See YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.

Choose a VPS based on the full workload and bill
There is no verified current India VPS plan comparison here, so it would be misleading to name a cheapest provider or promise a monthly price. Confirm that the provider offers the region you want and permits sustained FFmpeg encoding under its acceptable-use terms. Ask or check specifically for:
- Sustained CPU capacity and any throttling or fair-use policy. A low-motion image still requires a continuously running media pipeline; whether it can be encoded affordably depends on the source and encoder settings.
- Monthly outbound transfer allowance, overage rates, and whether streaming egress is included.
- Storage capacity for the source files, snapshots, or local archive.
- The all-in bill, including taxes, IPv4 or address fees, billing currency, and cancellation terms.
- Support and network terms suitable for a process expected to run continuously.
Do not infer CPU sizing from YouTube’s ingest bitrate: encoding demand depends on the media format, chosen codec and settings, and the VPS’s actual performance and throttling policy. Validate those conditions on the exact server you intend to use.

Prepare media and set YouTube’s encoder settings
Prepare a test feed
For a static or gently animated yoga nidra visual, a prepared 720p feed is a reasonable place to begin testing, not a guarantee that any low-cost virtual machine can encode it. Check the source’s audio and visual quality and confirm that your licensing covers continuous livestream use.
Use the settings for your stream
YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate recommendations list RTMP/RTMPS, H.264, H.265, or AV1 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). For H.264 at 720p30, YouTube lists 3 Mbps as the minimum and 8 Mbps as recommended. Use the table for your actual resolution and frame rate rather than treating one bitrate as universal.

YouTube also says to test with audio and movement similar to the intended stream. A meditation feed may have little visual motion, but test the real audio, video, and stream health rather than assuming low motion makes testing unnecessary.
Configure FFmpeg to send the loop to YouTube
- Open YouTube Live Control Room. Create or select the livestream and expose its stream settings. Copy the RTMPS server URL shown for that stream and its associated stream key. Follow the current YouTube interface rather than copying an endpoint from an unrelated guide.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: do not publish it, commit it to a public repository, or place it in a broadly readable script. Restrict access to the configuration or secret file used by the service.
- Build the FFmpeg command for your media. Loop the chosen media, encode or mux it to a format compatible with the selected YouTube settings, and send it to the copied RTMPS URL with the matching key. The exact command depends on the media’s codecs, resolution, frame rate, and whether it needs encoding; test the command with the actual files before automating it.
- Verify the transport and output. Google’s RTMPS ingestion guidance describes RTMPS as RTMP tunneled through SSL/TLS and specifies port 443, a valid endpoint and path, and correct server hostname/SNI authentication. Confirm that your FFmpeg build supports RTMPS and that the URL, port, certificate, and SNI handling are correct.
- Check YouTube’s stream health. Confirm that YouTube receives the expected resolution, frame rate, audio, and bitrate, and resolve any warnings before treating the stream as ready.
Keep FFmpeg running with systemd
Use a systemd unit or another operating-system service manager so the process starts at boot and is restarted after an exit. A community FFmpeg/systemd example illustrates this deployment pattern; systemd is an implementation choice, not a YouTube requirement. A restart policy such as Restart=always can bring back an exited process, but it does not repair a bad media path, invalid key, unavailable network, unhealthy ingest, or every other fault.

For a real unattended deployment, run the service as a least-privilege account, restrict permissions on files containing the key, retain useful logs through journald or an appropriate rotation policy, and configure an alert or external check that can tell you when the feed is no longer healthy. Review the logs and the YouTube Live Control Room after launch rather than assuming that a running process means a working broadcast.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choose between one continuous stream and shorter sessions
A single broadcast is simpler when the priority is an uninterrupted, unattended feed, but it has archive and rewind trade-offs. YouTube says a stream under 12 hours can be automatically archived; if it exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. See YouTube’s archive live streams and DVR guidance.

If dependable replay or rewind matters, schedule separate sessions shorter than 12 hours and keep a local archive where appropriate. If continuity matters more, a single long-running session may suit the goal, but do not rely on YouTube to save a stream that exceeds 12 hours.
Troubleshoot common failures
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Check that the channel is eligible for live streaming, the correct stream is selected, and the copied stream key matches it.
- Connection or TLS errors: Check for an accidental
rtmprather thanrtmpsURL, the exact endpoint and path from Live Control Room, port 443 access, FFmpeg RTMPS support, and certificate/SNI hostname handling. - Health warnings or poor output: Compare the actual codec, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, keyframe interval, and audio with YouTube’s published settings; test the real program and monitor stream health.
- The service keeps restarting: Inspect systemd and FFmpeg logs for a missing or unreadable media file, an invalid key, a command error, or a network/ingest failure. Restarting the process cannot correct the underlying cause by itself.
- The archive or rewind is missing: Check the session length. YouTube warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured and that DVR may be limited or unavailable beyond that duration.
