You can use datarhei Restreamer to send a Hindi music feed to YouTube, but the software does not guarantee an uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast. First clear the music rights, enable live streaming on your YouTube channel, configure Restreamer’s audio source and YouTube publication, then test and monitor the full chain. Plan separately for recovery and recordings: YouTube says streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived at all.
Before you start: clear the music rights
Use music your channel owns or has permission to stream in the relevant territories. YouTube’s live-stream terms require the provider to have the necessary rights for the live content, including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The terms also refer to applicable regulatory and licensing obligations in the territory of the stream. A song’s availability on a music service—or permission from only one contributor—does not establish that you can broadcast it.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects a match, it can replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you; continued use can lead to temporary interruption or termination. If you have licensed material, ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Without that step, a live stream may still be interrupted. An archived stream may also receive a Content ID claim after it ends. Confirm that your permissions cover live use, territories, any archive or replay, and the required Content ID handling.
Check YouTube channel eligibility and create a stream
YouTube requires live streaming to be enabled on an eligible, verified channel with no live-stream restrictions during the previous 90 days. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance; availability and Studio labels can change.

- In YouTube Studio, create an encoder stream and open its stream settings. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance explains the stream key and related settings. Treat the key as a credential: enter it only in the intended encoder and do not publish or share it.
- Open Live Control Room and confirm the stream status and preview after the encoder sends a feed. A saved key alone does not mean YouTube is receiving usable audio.
- For your first test, use an unlisted or otherwise appropriate test stream, then check playback and accessibility on the channel’s watch page and on a mobile device before making the broadcast public.
Configure Restreamer as the source and publisher
Choose and configure the audio source
Restreamer’s setup wizard supports network sources and its internal RTMP server, which can receive sources from tools such as OBS or Wowza. Select the source that matches your setup and configure the audio path in the wizard. The Restreamer project documentation describes AAC and MP3 support in its quick start; the wizard notes that some destinations, including YouTube, require an active audio channel.
Set concise stream metadata and review the license field in Restreamer’s wizard. Those fields describe the configured stream; they do not grant permission to use third-party music.

Add the YouTube publication
- In Restreamer, add a Publication Service for YouTube.
- Enter the valid YouTube streaming ID or stream key from the stream you created in Studio, then save the publication.
- Start the publication. Restreamer’s quick guide says the active connection’s bitrate is displayed in the main window; use it as a connection-status indicator, not as proof that YouTube playback is healthy.
- Check the YouTube Live Control Room preview, confirm that the audio is present and intelligible, and verify playback from a viewer’s perspective.
Restreamer’s publication manual describes HLS from the channel, RTMP from the internal RTMP server, and SRT from that server as publication input options. Its documented default RTMP and RTMPS listening ports are 1935 and 1936. These details concern incoming sources to Restreamer; they are not substitutes for the destination settings displayed in YouTube Studio.
Make the setup suitable for ongoing operation
A running process is not the same as a proven unattended service. YouTube recommends setting up ahead of time, previewing before a stream, checking accessibility, and monitoring audio and video quality. For an ongoing Hindi music channel, build a routine that checks the source, Restreamer publication status, YouTube playback, and any local recording. Decide who will respond if the host, source, or network stops.

- Test the complete route from audio source through Restreamer to YouTube before relying on it.
- Keep Restreamer and the source host on a stable power and network setup appropriate to your deployment; the official material does not establish a particular hardware configuration for every continuous workload.
- Use a unique, secure password for Restreamer and protect the YouTube stream key.
- Do not expose Restreamer’s administration interface or player ports to the public unless your design requires it. Restreamer’s quick start discusses port forwarding for public access to its own website player; a channel publishing only through YouTube has a different network need.
- Restreamer describes installation on a current Raspberry Pi, on a server, or through its ready-to-go datarhei Service. Its overview does not establish a particular board, power supply, storage device, or server configuration as sufficient for every 24/7 workload. Size and test your actual source and encoding workload rather than assuming a model will handle it.
Plan for YouTube archives and DVR limits
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. It separately warns that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable on very long streams, including those longer than 12 hours. A continuous 24-hour broadcast therefore should not be treated as a guaranteed complete YouTube replay.
If replay or clips matter, arrange a local recording, confirm that the file is growing, and make sure you have enough storage and a process for retaining it. Consider ending and restarting shorter sessions if that better fits your archive and DVR needs. Restreamer’s YouTube guide also advises ending the stream on YouTube first after an event when you want the live stream saved in YouTube’s DVR archive. No session length guarantees that every archive behavior will meet your needs, so check the result in Studio.

Choose a hosting approach that matches your operating capacity
