To run a 24/7 Catholic rosary stream, send a rights-cleared video or playlist to a YouTube Live event through a streaming encoder, check its preview in Live Control Room, then start the broadcast. Before leaving it unattended, confirm your channel is eligible, test the loop and recovery plan, and arrange a separate recording: YouTube says a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all.
What you need before setting up the stream
- A verified YouTube channel with no livestreaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Check eligibility in YouTube Studio before configuring the encoder. YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance explains the requirement.
- A finished rosary video or playlist and an encoder that can send it to YouTube Live. The encoder may run on a computer you operate or as part of a hosted playout service.
- Rights to livestream every element in the recording, including its performance, music, translation, artwork, and any other third-party material. Confirm that permissions also cover any replay or archive you plan to keep.
- A plan for monitoring playback, responding to dropped connections, and preserving a copy independently of YouTube.
A prayer’s religious subject or an old underlying text does not automatically clear a particular recording, modern translation, musical arrangement, or image. YouTube scans livestreams for third-party copyrighted content; a match can replace the live feed with a placeholder and, if it remains unresolved, lead to interruption or termination. A licence alone may not prevent this: YouTube advises asking the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist when needed. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams and get permission for the actual materials you will use.
Prepare and test the prerecorded rosary video
Build a deliberate loop
Before going live, play through the full recording or playlist and check that the audio and visuals transition as intended. Decide what viewers will see and hear between items and at the end of the playlist. Configure the encoder to repeat the material, then test what happens when the video ends or the encoder restarts. Looping behavior depends on the encoder configuration; do not assume it works correctly without testing.
Rehearse privately or unlisted
Run a private or unlisted rehearsal against the intended YouTube event. Confirm that the right video and sound appear in YouTube’s incoming preview, that the sequence repeats correctly, and that the event is the one you meant to use. Also test the response to a network interruption and a playback restart before relying on the setup unattended.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Keep the stream key private. Treat it like a credential: do not include it in a public screen capture or share it unnecessarily. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio.
Create the YouTube Live event and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and select Go Live. Create or schedule a live event for the broadcast.
- Choose the encoder workflow. In Live Control Room, copy the event’s stream URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your encoder. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe this sequence.
- Choose the secure ingestion endpoint. RTMPS is RTMP over an SSL connection. Google specifies port 443 for RTMPS; use the correct endpoint and connection information supplied for your stream. See Google’s RTMPS ingestion guide and its LiveStreams documentation.
- Start sending from the encoder. Verify that the incoming preview appears in Live Control Room and that picture and sound are correct.
- Start the broadcast in Live Control Room. Once the preview is ready, click Go live. Starting the encoder feed and starting the YouTube broadcast are separate actions in this workflow.
Keep a 24/7 stream running and monitored
A continuous broadcast depends on the encoder or playout system, its power and internet connection, and a working playback loop. Assign someone to monitor the stream and respond to interruptions; a prerecorded file does not remove the need to watch for connection or platform problems.

If you use OBS, its Help Portal notes that increasing dropped frames can indicate an unstable connection or a bitrate the connection cannot sustain. Check encoder statistics and YouTube’s stream health information, then investigate the connection and selected bitrate rather than assuming the source video is faulty. Test how your specific setup behaves after a connection loss or restart; no encoder or hosting arrangement should be assumed to recover without configuration and testing.
Preserve replays separately from the live broadcast
YouTube says it can automatically archive a livestream shorter than 12 hours, but warns: “If your stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all.” A 24/7 broadcast is longer than that threshold, so do not rely on YouTube as the only copy if preserving a replay matters. YouTube recommends making a local recording as a backup; see its archive guidance.

Decide in advance whether you will save a local recording, split the broadcast into shorter sessions, or separately publish a replay file. Work out storage needs from your recording settings and how long you intend to keep the files; YouTube does not specify a drive size. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable on very long streams. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.
Choose who operates the playout
| Operating model | What you operate | What to plan for |
|---|---|---|
| Local encoder | Your computer, encoder, source files, power, and internet connection. | Keep the machine and connection available, test the playback loop and reconnection behavior, monitor the broadcast, and arrange a separate recording if you need a replay. |
| Hosted or cloud playout | The uploaded source material and the service configuration, including the YouTube stream connection. | Check how you access and protect files and stream keys, what the service does after an interruption, how you monitor failures, and what the ongoing cost is. Confirm recovery behavior rather than assuming it. |
Both approaches still require rights-cleared content, correct YouTube event and encoder configuration, monitoring, and a replay plan. The local approach makes your own computer and connection part of the continuous setup. A cloud service can keep playout off that computer, but review its actual capabilities and terms before relying on it.
