YouTube Studio’s archive controls do not remove an episode from an external playback rotation. First identify whether the episode is still scheduled, appears only in a finished stream, or is part of a copyright claim; each requires a different action.
First identify where the episode appears
- It is still playing or scheduled to play: change the playlist or queue in the software or service that supplies the livestream.
- It appears only in a finished stream: change or delete that saved archive in YouTube Studio. This does not necessarily change the source playlist or an ongoing feed.
- A copyright claim identifies a segment: review the claim and, if appropriate, edit the archived video in YouTube Studio. This does not remove the episode from future rotation.
Remove it from future rotation
Find the system that sends the repeating episodes to YouTube. It may be an encoder, a playout application, or a third-party scheduling service. Open that system’s playlist or queue, remove the episode, and save or publish the change according to that system’s controls.
YouTube’s official guidance covers stream setup and saved livestream archives, but does not establish a universal Studio control for removing an item from an unspecified external rotation. The exact steps therefore depend on the tool feeding your stream. If you cannot identify it, check the channel’s livestream setup or ask the person who configured the feed before deleting anything in Studio.
Change or delete a past livestream archive
- In YouTube Studio, open Content, then select Live.
- Select the relevant livestream to open its details.
- Change the archive’s visibility or delete the archive, depending on what you need.
This changes the saved video, not necessarily what the playout system will broadcast next. YouTube documents this workflow for livestream archives: manage live streams in YouTube Studio.

Edit a claimed segment in an archive
If the issue is a copyright claim on a section of an archived stream, inspect the claim in Studio and consider the relevant Editor action only if it fits the situation. YouTube documents trimming a claimed segment. Preview the proposed result carefully and keep a separate backup before saving: since June 2025, edits saved in Studio Editor cannot be undone using “Revert to original.” This editing option is for the archive, not for managing a recurring rotation. Check rights before broadcasting a cartoon
Removing an episode from a queue can prevent future playback, but it does not settle whether the channel had permission to stream it or whether a past broadcast may remain available. Confirm that your rights cover the audiovisual material, territories, and live distribution involved. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for necessary rights on the content provider: YouTube livestream terms.

YouTube says livestreams are scanned for third-party content. A match can lead to a placeholder image; if the material remains after a warning, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. If the stream is archived, a Content ID claim may arrive after the live broadcast ends. For a rights dispute, use the appropriate YouTube process; a copyright removal request is a legal process for copyright owners or authorized representatives, not a shortcut for changing your own playlist. YouTube advises considering whether an exception such as fair use or public domain applies before submitting a request: copyright removal requests.
