To remove a title quickly: open its menu and choose Remove From Row. On a TV or streaming device, open the title’s details page and choose Remove from Continue Watching. If that control is unavailable, hide the title in your profile’s Viewing activity from a web browser.
Netflix’s controls are profile-specific, so check that you are using the profile where the movie was watched. Labels and menu placement can vary by language, device, app version, and region.

Remove a movie on a computer
- Open Netflix in a web browser and select the correct profile.
- Find the movie in the Continue Watching row.
- Place your cursor over the movie. The title controls should appear.
- Select Remove From Row.
- Confirm the choice if Netflix displays a prompt.
On a touchscreen laptop, the hover interaction may behave like a click or tap, depending on the browser and hardware.

Remove a movie on a smart TV or streaming device
- Open Netflix and choose the profile that watched the movie.
- Navigate to the movie in Continue Watching.
- Open the movie’s full details page rather than starting playback.
- Open the available options or menu panel.
- Choose Remove from Continue Watching.
Roku, Fire TV, Google TV, game consoles, and smart-TV operating systems can place this option in different menus. Netflix documents the details-page route but does not promise an identical layout on every device.
Remove a movie on Android
- Update Netflix through the Google Play Store if an update is available.
- Open the latest Netflix app and select the correct profile.
- Scroll to Continue Watching.
- Open the menu associated with the movie.
- Tap Remove From Row, then confirm if asked.
Remove a movie on iPhone or iPad
- Install the latest Netflix app available for your device.
- Open Netflix and select the profile where the movie appears.
- Locate the movie in Continue Watching.
- Tap the title’s menu icon.
- Select Remove From Row and confirm if Netflix requests confirmation.
Current Netflix guidance lists iPhone and iPad as supported for direct removal; older instructions that required a browser are outdated.
If “Remove From Row” is missing
Use Netflix’s browser-based viewing-history control. It removes the title from Continue Watching and has broader effects than the row button.

- Open Account.
- Under Profiles, select the relevant profile.
- Open Viewing activity.
- Find the movie and click the hide icon beside it.
- Confirm if prompted.
Netflix’s account route is also described at its Viewing activity help page. Netflix says a hidden title can take up to 24 hours to disappear from all devices.
Hide one episode or an entire series
If the entry belongs to a TV series, hiding an episode can present an option to hide the entire series. Choose the individual episode when you only want to correct one entry; choose the series option when you want the series’ viewing history and Continue Watching presence removed more broadly. Netflix does not label this as a separate Continue Watching button; the choice appears within Viewing activity.
Do not use “Hide all” accidentally
The Viewing activity page includes Hide all. That affects the profile’s entire viewing-history record, so use the single-title hide icon unless you deliberately want a broad reset.

The row control is the narrower cleanup option. Hiding viewing activity is the better choice when you also want to erase the profile’s watched-history record or stop that title influencing recommendations. The broader effects are explained by Netflix’s viewing-history guidance.
Profile, device, and synchronization problems
The movie still appears
- Check the profile icon. Continue Watching, viewing activity, recommendations, and My List are maintained separately for each profile, as Netflix explains at its profile help page.
- Refresh Netflix or sign out and back in on the affected device.
- If you used Viewing activity, allow up to 24 hours for the change to synchronize across devices.
- Check whether another episode or a series entry is representing the same program.
- Make sure you are not viewing a different Netflix surface or device integration.
There is no removal option on the TV
- Open the movie’s details page instead of pressing Play.
- Look for an options or menu panel there.
- Install any available Netflix app or device-software update.
- Try removing the movie from a computer or phone.
- If necessary, use Viewing activity in a browser.
The mobile app is old
Netflix specifically requires the latest app for direct mobile removal. Update the app before concluding that your phone or tablet is unsupported.
You are using a Netflix Kids profile
Netflix says titles cannot be hidden from Viewing activity when that page is accessed from a Kids profile. The direct Continue Watching control may still be the first option to try; for account management, an authorized adult should use an eligible adult profile.

What removal does not do
- It does not remove the movie from Netflix’s catalog.
- It does not cancel your subscription.
- It does not delete the Netflix profile or all account data.
- It does not remove the title from My List; My List is a separate feature.
- It does not permanently block the movie. You can search for it and watch it again if it remains available in your region and plan.
Can you undo the removal?
Netflix announced an undo or back-arrow option for Continue Watching in a January 27, 2022 product announcement, but its current Help Center instructions do not guarantee that the control appears everywhere. If an undo prompt is no longer visible, search for the movie and resume it normally. If you hid it through Viewing activity, restoring the history entry may require the profile’s history controls or watching the title again; Netflix does not document one universal restore button.
Choosing the right method
- Use Remove From Row when you only want to declutter the row and preserve the profile’s existing viewing record.
- Use Viewing activity when the direct control is missing, the entry is stuck, you want to remove a series or several episodes, or you do not want the title used for recommendations.
- Use a separate profile when household members are mixing their viewing. Netflix supports up to five profiles on an account, subject to membership and account limits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I remove a movie without deleting it from Netflix?
Yes. Remove From Row only changes that profile’s Continue Watching row; it does not remove the movie from Netflix’s catalog or prevent you from finding it later if it remains available.
Does Remove From Row delete my watch history?
Netflix’s current direct-removal instructions do not say that it deletes viewing history. Hiding the title in Viewing activity does remove the history entry.

Will the title disappear on every device immediately?
Direct row removal is intended for Continue Watching. For the Viewing activity method, Netflix warns that synchronization across devices can take up to 24 hours.
Can I remove an entire series?
Yes. In Viewing activity, hiding an episode can offer a choice to hide the entire series. Select that option only if you want the broader series history removed.
Does removing a title change recommendations?
Netflix specifically says that hiding a title in Viewing activity stops it being used for recommendations unless you watch it again. Netflix does not make that claim for Remove From Row.
Is this the same as removing a title from My List?
No. Continue Watching and My List are separate profile features, so removing a title from one does not automatically remove it from the other.
