A 24/7 stream does not require 24/7 personal attention: price the membership around sustainable recognition, participation, or exclusive programming—not simply around the fact that the video stays live.
How many membership levels should you offer?
YouTube allows up to six levels, with one to five perks in each, but its pricing guidance recommends starting with one to three. Treat six as a platform limit, not a target. A smaller ladder is easier for viewers to understand and for a channel team to maintain, particularly when benefits recur.
Before publishing, YouTube reviews proposed levels and perks. Higher-priced levels include the perks from lower-priced levels, so each step upward should add something meaningfully different rather than charge more for the same bundle. How much should each level cost?
There is no universally established ideal price for a 24/7 livestream membership. The right price depends on the audience’s willingness to pay, the value of the added benefits, and the effort and cost of delivering them. YouTube’s channel memberships pricing tips advise creators to consider the cost and effort of perks in relation to the value viewers may see in them. YouTube also notes that many members join to support a channel without expecting substantial perks.

Choose from the prices YouTube makes available for your channel, then check how those prices appear in the countries and regions where your viewers live. The UK price table is one example of region-specific pricing, not a universal price list; YouTube said regional price updates began rolling out in May 2025. Confirm the current options in YouTube Studio rather than assuming a price shown in one market applies everywhere.
YouTube says creators can adjust price levels for new members once every 12 months after the previous update; existing members remain at the price at which they joined. Check the current Studio settings before planning a price change, since platform settings can change. What should each level include?
Use the following as design roles, not fixed prices or a required number of tiers. YouTube lists benefits such as badges, emoji, member posts, early access, members-only live chat, members-only livestreams, milestone chats, a recognition shelf, Shorts, and videos. Availability and suitability depend on channel features and settings. Describe benefits precisely in the Join offer, and promise only what your channel can fulfill.
Support tier
Make the entry level a straightforward way to support the channel. A badge or emoji can provide lightweight recognition where available. Say plainly that the payment supports the channel; do not imply personal service or intensive perks if you are not providing them.

Participation tier
Add a repeatable way to take part, such as members-only chat during public streams or member posts. Specify when the benefit applies. A nonstop broadcast does not mean someone is always available to reply, so do not promise guaranteed responses or priority attention unless staffing makes that reliable.
Premium tier
Offer a more substantial exclusive experience only if you can produce it on a dependable schedule. Members-only streams or videos can distinguish this level, but set a clear cadence and scope that your team can sustain. The added price should reflect the extra value and delivery work.

How to decide whether a higher tier earns its price
Evaluate the proposed benefit against the lower levels and the real operating capacity of the channel. YouTube recommends considering audience motivations and the time and cost of delivering perks; these questions turn that guidance into a practical check.
- Audience value: Does the perk offer support, recognition, participation, exclusivity, or access that viewers actually want?
- Incremental value: Because lower-tier perks carry upward, what does this level add that members cannot get below?
- Delivery burden: How many recurring hours, moderation tasks, or production costs will it require?
- Scalability: Can you provide the benefit to many members without a matching increase in labor?
- Reliability: Can you keep the stated schedule during ordinary staffing or production disruptions?
- Geographic accessibility: Do the locally displayed prices make the offer understandable to members in your main audience regions?
- Observed performance: After launch, do joins and retention by level support keeping or revising the offer?
How to test and refine your pricing
- Ask before building: Use a community post or poll to learn whether viewers value support, recognition, participation, or exclusive access most.
- Publish a small ladder: Start with one to three levels and a manageable number of clearly described perks.
- Review membership performance: In YouTube Studio, examine membership by level, including acquisition and retention, and consider the results alongside direct member feedback.
- Change what the evidence supports: Keep benefits that members value and the channel can deliver. Adjust unclear or burdensome perks before adding another level.
YouTube’s guidance does not establish a conversion benchmark, ideal price, or expected revenue for memberships on 24/7 streams. Use the channel’s own performance and audience feedback rather than relying on an assumed industry rate.

Keep memberships distinct from livestream contributions
Channel memberships are recurring monthly payments for members-only perks. Super Chat and Super Stickers are separate fan-funding features viewers can use during livestreams or Premieres to highlight messages or surface animated images.
