To keep the YouTube broadcast going after a prerecorded video ends, make sure the outgoing PRISM Desktop scene still has something to send: enable a loop or repeat option if your installed version exposes one, or arrange a persistent source or scene to take over. PRISM’s public media-source guide explains how to add and play local media but does not document a loop-at-end control or say exactly what happens to the YouTube stream when a clip finishes. Rehearse the transition before relying on it.
First, identify what is ending
A prerecorded clip and a YouTube live session are separate parts of the setup. A media source is the local video, image, or audio used in the outgoing stream; session controls determine whether the YouTube live remains available. A clip reaching its end does not, by itself, tell you whether YouTube has taken the broadcast OffAir.
- The clip ends but YouTube remains OnAir: you need continued content in the outgoing scene, such as a repeated clip or another persistent source.
- YouTube goes OffAir: treat it as a session or transmission problem and investigate the platform state, connection, device processing, policy, or platform limits.
- You want to continue the same mobile session later: PRISM’s “KEEP” or “Keep Session” option is for preserving a session, not replaying the clip.
PRISM Desktop: keep content on the outgoing scene
PRISM’s official media-source guide describes adding local media and playback behavior in Studio Mode. It does not document a loop/repeat-at-end setting. Because the available controls may vary by installed build, inspect the properties of the actual video source rather than assuming a particular toggle exists.
- In PRISM Desktop, select the scene and video media source used for the broadcast.
- Open that source’s properties and look for a loop, repeat, or equivalent playback option. If your installed version has one, enable it.
- Run a short rehearsal and let the clip reach its end. Confirm that the source starts again and that YouTube continues receiving the expected live content.
- If there is no repeat control, arrange for another persistent source or scene to remain live after the clip ends. Switch to it before the video finishes, then rehearse the handoff and confirm the outgoing YouTube stream is still receiving content.
PRISM documents a separate setting called “Restart playback when source becomes active.” Its guide says to uncheck it and click OK when media sources do not autoplay. That setting concerns playback when a source becomes active; it is not documentation of an end-of-clip loop. Do not use it as a substitute for a repeat control.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
PRISM Mobile: “Keep Session” does not replay a video
PRISM Mobile’s YouTube session options address whether the session remains available after transmission from the device ends. In PRISM’s guide to ending YouTube streaming, YouTube may remain OnAir after device streaming stops; the app can offer “KEEP” so the creator can resume the live or end the session. PRISM’s separate resuming guide says the described mobile resume feature requires more than 50 subscribers and instructs creators to choose “Keep Session” and later select the active session.
Use those controls when you want to preserve or resume an available YouTube session. Neither guide says they restart a finished media item, so they do not replace looping or a scene that continues producing content.

If YouTube actually goes OffAir
If YouTube shows that the live has ended, do not assume the clip ending caused it. PRISM says it checks whether the destination live remains OnAir and stops its own streaming after confirming the platform stream has ended. Its “Stream Has Ended” troubleshooting guide lists abnormal stream processing, unstable transmission or device processing, policy enforcement, and platform limits as possible causes.
- Check YouTube’s live status to distinguish a finished platform session from a clip that simply stopped playing.
- Check the connection and device processing if transmission was unstable or the stream stopped unexpectedly.
- Review any platform notice or policy enforcement message rather than repeatedly restarting without addressing the cause.
- End the broadcast deliberately in PRISM with its End/Finish control when you intend to stop. PRISM warns that its transmission may continue after the platform appears to have ended.
PRISM’s guide says YouTube has no maximum stream-time limit according to its current guidance, but automatic archiving is supported only for streams under 12 hours. That archival threshold concerns saving the broadcast, not continuing playback after a clip ends.
