To run a Punjabi music playlist on YouTube Live, first clear the rights for every song and recording, prepare a video playlist that repeats in your encoder, then send it to YouTube using the stream URL and key from Live Control Room. For a channel that should appear live around the clock, plan managed stream sessions and local recordings: YouTube warns that streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured as archives, and DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable.
1. Clear the music and recordings before building the playlist
Make an inventory of every musical work and sound recording in the video. Confirm that the permissions cover the intended use as a YouTube livestream, the territories where it will be available, and the planned duration. Rights for a song and rights for a particular recording may involve different owners, so check both rather than assuming one permission covers everything.
Buying a track, owning a copy, crediting the artist, or having permission to upload a song as an ordinary video does not by itself establish permission to livestream it. The applicable terms depend on the individual tracks, recordings, rightsholders, territories, and agreements.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using it; if the content continues, YouTube may temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. Even a licensed recording can trigger a match if the channel has not been allowlisted by the rightsholder. YouTube advises creators with licensed content to ask the owner to add their channel to the Content ID allowlist. YouTube for Artists also recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when planning to use protected music in a livestream.

2. Make sure the channel can go live
YouTube’s general guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. The creator must be at least 16 under YouTube’s stated general live-stream guidance. Check eligibility in the account before scheduling the broadcast. If this will be the channel’s first livestream, enable and verify live streaming well in advance; YouTube for Artists recommends allowing at least 24 hours.

3. Prepare a playlist video that can repeat
Assemble the audio and visual presentation in the encoder workflow you plan to use. Check the complete sequence for missing tracks, unwanted gaps, abrupt transitions, incorrect artwork, and audio-level changes. The encoder must support your operating system and media, repeat playback for the prepared playlist, and the ingest protocol you intend to use. YouTube’s setup guidance explains how to send an encoder feed, but does not prescribe software-specific repeat settings, so verify the loop in the encoder itself before going public.
Decide whether the encoder will also make a local recording. A local copy gives you a separate archive to inspect and retain; YouTube recommends a local backup for long streams. Test the recording and confirm it plays correctly rather than assuming that selecting a record option guarantees a usable file.
4. Create the YouTube broadcast and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the broadcast. Retrieve the stream URL and stream key for that broadcast.
- In your encoder, choose the supported ingest protocol and enter the stream URL and key in the corresponding server and key fields. Treat the key as a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to the channel.
- Start the encoder output and wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room’s preview. Check that the correct playlist video is playing and that both picture and sound are present.
- When the preview is right, start the broadcast in Live Control Room if the workflow requires that separate action. Confirm the public viewing page and monitor the stream after launch.
Exact encoder labels vary by application. Follow that application’s stream-server/key instructions alongside YouTube’s encoder setup guide and stream settings guidance.

5. Choose an ingest protocol that fits the workflow
YouTube supports encoder workflows; the appropriate protocol depends on the encoder and the stream’s latency and delivery needs. Do not apply HLS requirements to every stream: they are specific to HLS ingestion.
HLS-specific requirements
For HLS, YouTube documents one-to-four-second segments, TS segment format, a rolling playlist with no more than five outstanding segments, and HTTPS POST/PUT delivery. HLS has higher latency than RTMP-style continuous delivery. YouTube names OBS among encoders that support HLS output, but that does not establish that every encoder, configuration, or workflow supports it.
Consult YouTube Help: Set up an HLS stream and Google for Developers: Delivering Live YouTube Content via HLS for the HLS-specific details. Use the protocol instructions that match your actual encoder configuration.

6. Test the complete setup before making it public
Run a private or otherwise appropriate test before the planned broadcast. Test the whole playlist loop, not just its first minute, and check the incoming preview and any local recording.
- Confirm the stream key and URL belong to the intended broadcast.
- Listen for silence, clipping, volume jumps, missing audio, and unwanted gaps or overlaps between tracks.
- Watch the picture for freezes, black frames, incorrect visuals, or an unexpected end to the playlist.
- Verify that repeat playback returns to the beginning as intended.
- Check the local recording’s playback and file integrity.
- Monitor the Live Control Room for stream health and any copyright warning or interruption.
YouTube’s streaming tips recommend testing, previewing, monitoring quality, and checking archive integrity. These checks reduce avoidable setup errors; they do not guarantee uninterrupted 24/7 uptime.
7. Plan sessions, archives, and viewer rewind separately
A channel that maintains a 24/7 live presence is not necessarily one broadcast that runs continuously for a day or longer. YouTube says a live stream that is less than 12 hours can be automatically archived. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. YouTube also says DVR pause-and-rewind capabilities may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours.

Decide how the operator will handle stream sessions, restarts, local recordings, and archive continuity. The cited YouTube guidance does not prescribe one best session-rotation method, so do not assume that a single uninterrupted 24-hour stream will produce a complete VOD. Keep and check local recordings if you need a dependable copy of the broadcast.
