Connect your TV or streaming device to your Airtel Xstream Fiber home Wi-Fi, open its YouTube app, find the radio playlist you want, and start playback. Fiber supplies the internet connection; your TV still needs a YouTube app or a compatible connected device. You can also cast from a phone on a compatible setup.
Choose where YouTube will play
You do not need an Airtel Xstream Box if your television already has a YouTube app. Use the device you have that can run YouTube and is easiest to control.

Airtel describes its Xstream Box as a way to turn a regular TV into a smart one, but it is one option, not a requirement for every Airtel Fiber household. Exact menus and feature availability vary by TV, device, and software.
Connect the TV or box to Airtel Wi-Fi
- Turn on the TV or streaming box and open its network or Wi-Fi settings. The names and location of these settings vary by model.
- Select your Airtel home Wi-Fi network and enter its password. Airtel’s Xstream TV information says the box needs Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot for internet access.
- Wait for the device to show that it is connected, then open YouTube. If it cannot connect, check that you selected the correct network and entered its password correctly.
Find and play the radio playlist
- Open YouTube on the TV or streaming box.
- Search by the playlist name, station, genre, or creator. YouTube search and playlist layouts can change, so the labels may differ between devices.
- Select the playlist you want and start playback. If the results are not right, try a more specific station or creator name.
The Airtel information establishes that YouTube is available on the Xstream Box; it does not specify a particular YouTube radio playlist interface or guarantee that every playlist labeled “radio” behaves the same way.

Cast from your phone instead
- Connect the phone and the compatible TV or Xstream Box to the same home network.
- Open YouTube on your phone and start the playlist.
- Use YouTube’s cast control, choose the TV or Xstream Box from the available devices, and follow any on-screen pairing prompt.
Casting is optional: if the TV app works for you, you can search and play directly with the TV remote. If the TV or box does not appear as a cast target, confirm that it supports casting and is connected to the home network.
TV playback is not the same as mobile background play
YouTube documents Premium benefits such as ad-free music videos on supported TV-connected devices when signed in. That does not mean a TV will keep playing with its screen off. YouTube documents offline and background play in its YouTube, YouTube Kids, and YouTube Music mobile apps, and says the YouTube Music app is not available on living-room devices.

On 12 March 2026, the YouTube Team announced that Premium Lite background play and downloads were rolling out in India for most videos, distinguishing those benefits from full YouTube Premium background play for music content and YouTube Music Premium.
