You can organize a month of church services into a YouTube playlist, but a normal playlist is for on-demand viewing; it does not by itself broadcast the recordings nonstop as a 24/7 live stream. Create a dated playlist for the archive, or use a separate live-feed workflow if viewers need one continuous live page.
Make a playlist for the month’s services
- Make sure the recordings are on the channel. Upload and publish the videos before adding them to the playlist. YouTube’s playlist instructions explain how to create playlists and add videos.
- Create and name the playlist. In YouTube or YouTube Studio, create a playlist with a specific month and year, such as “Sunday Services — October 2026.” In the description, state the dates covered and the service type.
- Choose visibility deliberately. Set it to Public if anyone should be able to view it, or Private if access should be limited to the owner. Check the setting before sharing the link.
- Add the service videos and order them. Put them in date order, or arrange them in the sequence that best serves viewers. YouTube supports manual reordering.
- Check the viewer experience. Open the playlist signed out or in a separate account. Confirm the intended videos are visible and in the right order, and that titles and thumbnails identify service dates. This is a practical check, not a YouTube requirement.
- Keep the archive usable at month end. Retain the playlist as a dated archive, or update its description and membership if it is intended to be a rolling “latest month” collection. Use the same naming pattern for each month so viewers can find older services.
What “nonstop” means on YouTube
A YouTube playlist gathers videos for viewers to select and watch; the playlist workflow does not turn those videos into a continuous live broadcast. If the goal is an unattended 24/7 watch page, the church needs a separate livestream workflow that supplies a continuous audiovisual feed through an encoder or playback system. Plan to test and monitor that setup; a playlist alone does not provide or guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance describes a separate workflow.
Choose the format that serves the congregation
- Monthly archive: Best when viewers should choose and replay individual services, and when the church wants an organized record of each month.
- Continuous live page: Consider this when viewers need one recurring live destination and the church can supply and monitor a continuous feed.
The rights checks apply either way, but a continuous broadcast also needs a working feed and monitoring. Decide whether a monthly archive or a recurring broadcast better fits how the congregation will watch.
Check music and other rights before publishing or rebroadcasting
Review the permissions for everything captured in a service, especially music and third-party material, before making recordings public or rebroadcasting them. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content; a stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even where a church has a licence, the relevant rights owner may need to allowlist the channel through Content ID. YouTube also says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

For UK Church of England context, its guidance on streaming worship and music says the CCLI Streaming Licence covers live worship music performed in streams in the described context, and discusses One Licence for additional church and choral repertoire. It also says commercially available CDs or recordings cannot be played without specific permission. This is not universal legal advice or confirmation that a particular church’s repertoire is covered. Verify the terms and permissions for the church, territory, song, recording, and intended use.
Use accurate playlist details
Make the title and description match the actual contents: identify the month, year, service type, and date range without suggesting the playlist contains material it does not. YouTube prohibits playlists with titles or descriptions that mislead viewers about what they contain; see its Community Guidelines.
