You can’t transfer a podcast library into YouTube Music in one step. Google’s transfer tool moves supported music content, not podcasts, and YouTube Music has no documented podcast import or export feature. To switch, save shows that are already listed, add missing shows one at a time by RSS feed, then recreate downloads and saved episodes yourself.
What transfers—and what you’ll need to rebuild
“Podcast library” can mean more than followed shows: it may include saved episodes, offline downloads, playback position, listening history, ratings, custom playlists, queues, auto-download rules, notes, folders, and private feeds. Adding a show to YouTube Music restores access to that show; it does not import the account data attached to it in another app.
Google’s transfer documentation says podcasts cannot be imported or exported. For the items below, there is no documented podcast migration path, so plan to recreate what matters manually.

Save shows that already exist in YouTube Music
Start with native listings: they are the straightforward choice when the show is present and accurate. Google says saved podcast shows appear in the Podcasts section of your library, and new episodes from followed shows can appear in the New Episodes playlist. See Google’s podcast library help.

- Open the YouTube Music app and search for the exact show title.
- Open the show’s details page. Check the publisher, artwork, and latest episode so you do not save a similarly named show.
- Select Save to library.
- Confirm the show appears under Library → Podcasts.
Add a missing show using its RSS feed
If a show is not listed, YouTube Music lets listeners add it by entering its RSS-feed URL. This is a show-by-show workaround, not a bulk import. Google’s RSS-feed instructions specify an adult Google account; podcast features can vary by country or region.
Find the actual feed URL
Look on the publisher’s website for an RSS or subscribe link, check the podcast host’s public feed page, or look in the old app’s show information or sharing options. Some podcast directories also expose feed URLs. Copy the feed itself—not an episode page, YouTube video, Apple Podcasts page, or Spotify show page unless the URL is explicitly the RSS feed.
Add the feed in the app
- Open YouTube Music and select Library.
- Select Podcast, then tap Add podcast in the lower-right corner.
- Choose Add a podcast by RSS feed.
- Read and accept the disclaimer, enter the RSS-feed URL, and tap Add.
- Wait for the show to appear in your library. Google says most feeds appear within minutes, though some take longer.
RSS-added shows display a badge beside their title in the library. The feed host can access your IP address, as Google explains in its RSS-feed help. Avoid sharing private or tokenized feed URLs publicly.

Recreate saved episodes and downloads
Prioritize the episodes you are currently partway through, then shows whose episodes you regularly download and any back-catalog episodes you still need. Find each episode in YouTube Music and save it or add it to a playlist if those options are available. Playback positions and old app downloads are not documented as transferable.
- Add or save the show in YouTube Music.
- Open the episode or show and use YouTube Music’s download control where available.
- Check Library → Downloads to confirm the episode is available offline.
YouTube Music’s download help describes podcasts in its Downloads area, but an offline copy managed by another app is not a YouTube Music download. It must be downloaded again in the destination app.
Avoid duplicate listings
Search before adding a feed. If both a native listing and an RSS-added version exist, compare publisher, artwork, latest episode, and update behavior. Keep the accurate native listing when it meets your needs. If a show you added by RSS later becomes available natively, Google recommends removing the feed version.

- Open Library and find the RSS-added show.
- Open the menu beside it and select Remove from Library.
Know the limits of RSS-added shows
An RSS feed can restore access to episodes without waiting for a native YouTube Music listing, but RSS-added shows do not have the full native feature set. Google lists these limitations:
- No switching between audio and video.
- No likes or dislikes.
- No sharing of shows or episodes.
- No podcast channel-page access.
- No reporting controls through the normal podcast interface.
- No captions.
Feed quality and metadata depend on the publisher, and an RSS listing may not contain the show’s complete back catalog. Check the feed against the publisher’s official episode list if episodes seem to be missing.

YouTube Music does not document an OPML-based podcast import path. If your old app exports an OPML file, use it as a reference list or extract each show’s RSS feed; it is not an officially supported one-click YouTube Music import.

Google mentions TuneMyMusic and Soundiiz as third-party options for music playlist transfers, but does not promise that either can move podcast subscriptions, saved episodes, or downloads. A music-playlist transfer is not a podcast-library migration. Google also notes that third-party services are not guaranteed; resolve service disputes with the provider.

The RSS URL is rejected
- Check that you copied the raw feed URL rather than a show website or individual episode link.
- Confirm the feed is available and correctly formatted; private, malformed, blocked, or inaccessible feeds may not work.
- Try again later, search for a native YouTube Music listing, or ask the publisher or host about feed access.
The show appears twice
You may have saved the native listing and added the same show by RSS. Compare publisher and episode updates, keep the accurate version, and remove the duplicate RSS entry if the native show is available.
Episodes are missing or the feed is slow
Some feeds take longer than minutes to appear. If episodes remain missing, the publisher may expose only a limited back catalog, use multiple feeds, or provide incomplete metadata. Compare with the publisher’s official feed rather than assuming every historical episode has been imported.

A private or paid feed does not work
Google’s listener instructions do not promise support for every authentication method used by private feeds. Check the feed’s access requirements with the publisher or provider, and do not assume a tokenized URL will work or share it publicly.
Playback position or history is absent
There is no documented mechanism for importing podcast playback state. Resume manually and retain access to the old app temporarily if you still need its history or position markers.
Keep creator RSS ingestion separate
The listener workflow above saves a feed to your personal YouTube Music library. It is not the creator process for publishing a podcast to YouTube. A creator uses YouTube Studio → Create → New podcast → Submit RSS feed to import their own episodes to a channel; Google says episodes may be turned into videos using podcast artwork. See the creator RSS instructions. The creator feature’s country availability, including the United States, is listed separately by Google at RSS ingestion availability; it does not change the listener’s migration options.

This separate feature is for supported music content only. Google’s steps are:

- Open YouTube Music, tap your profile icon, then go to Settings → Privacy & data.
- Select Transfer playlists from other apps, then tap Let’s start.
- Authorize the external music service and choose playlists.
- Tap Transfer to YouTube Music and authorize your Google Account if prompted.
Transferred music remains in the original service, and later changes do not automatically synchronize. This does not import podcasts.
