To loop yoga videos during a YouTube Live broadcast, play the files through an encoder such as OBS: use an OBS VLC Video source for several files and turn on Loop Playlist, or use a Media Source with Loop enabled for one long file. A YouTube playlist is only a collection of watch-page videos; it does not itself send repeated video to a live broadcast.
Choose the right kind of playlist
A playlist saved on YouTube groups videos for viewers to watch; it is not a live encoder input. To broadcast a repeating yoga sequence, your encoder needs to play the media and send its output to YouTube Live. You can create and manage a YouTube playlist separately, but for the live loop use local media in OBS. YouTube explains playlist creation and management.
Use one prepared, continuous file if the session should play as a single video. Use multiple files if you want separate segments in a fixed order. OBS Media Source can loop a single file; OBS VLC Video supports playlists and a separate Loop Playlist option. OBS documents these media sources.
Prepare the channel and yoga media
- Confirm live access. YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days to enable live streaming. YouTube supports streaming through an encoder. Check the current status and setup details in YouTube’s live-streaming guide.
- Clear the content for live use. Use files you created or have permission to rebroadcast in a live stream. A song being available on YouTube or included in a personal playlist does not by itself grant rebroadcast rights.
- Decide the sequence. For several segments, gather the files and determine their order before adding them to OBS. For a single continuous file, use Media Source instead of building a playlist.
Set up a repeating playlist in OBS
- Create or schedule the YouTube event. Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room to set up the stream. Use the stream setup values shown there when configuring OBS; do not share your stream key.
- Make an OBS scene. In OBS, select or create the scene that will carry the yoga video.
- Add the playlist source. In the Sources panel, select + and choose VLC Video. If this source is unavailable, install VLC. OBS notes that 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC for this source.
- Add and order files. In the VLC Video source properties, add the media files and arrange them in the intended sequence. Leave shuffle off if order matters.
- Enable the loop. Turn on Loop Playlist so the sequence starts again after its last item. Shuffle is a separate setting; enable it only if a changing order is what you want.
- Connect OBS to YouTube. Enter the stream setup values provided in Live Control Room in OBS, then start the encoder output.
- Check before broadcasting. Confirm that YouTube Studio receives the encoder preview/status and that the correct media is playing. Start the broadcast from YouTube Studio when ready, then monitor both the stream and playback source.
Loop one long yoga video instead
For one local file, add an OBS Media Source to your scene, select the file, and enable its Loop setting in the source properties. This restarts that file when playback reaches the end. Then connect OBS to YouTube using the stream setup values in Live Control Room and verify the incoming preview before starting the broadcast.

Copyright and live-stream interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If an identified match remains unresolved, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. For third-party material you are licensed to use, YouTube says the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Get permission that covers live streaming before scheduling the session, and review any YouTube Studio warnings or strikes if a broadcast is interrupted. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.
Troubleshoot common loop problems
- A single video stops at the end: Open its OBS Media Source properties and confirm Loop is enabled.
- The sequence stops after the final file: Check that you used VLC Video and enabled Loop Playlist.
- VLC Video is missing: Install VLC. If you use 64-bit OBS, install the 64-bit VLC version as OBS specifies.
- The files play in an unexpected order: Check their playlist order and make sure shuffle is disabled.
- YouTube will not let you go live: Check channel verification and whether the channel has a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- The live broadcast is interrupted: Check YouTube Studio for a warning or strike and address any identified third-party content. A license may not be reflected automatically in Content ID; the rights owner may need to allowlist the channel.
- The broadcast stops when the computer or connection fails: OBS is playing and sending the media locally, so the computer, playback source, and network must remain available during the broadcast.
