A viewer request is not permission to broadcast a song. Build requests from an approved catalogue, moderate them before playback, and choose either a local computer or cloud playout to keep the stream running.
1. Clear music rights before building the playlist
You need permission for both the sound recording and the underlying musical composition. Confirm with the relevant rights holders that your planned use covers continuous live broadcasting, the territories where the stream will be available, and any replay or archive you intend to keep. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music: YouTube for Artists.
A purchased file, public YouTube upload, consumer music subscription, or viewer request does not by itself establish live-broadcast rights. Nor does a license necessarily prevent an interruption: YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, and a stream may be interrupted even when the channel has a license unless the owner adds the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Ask the rights holder about allowlisting before launch. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.
No particular rights-clearance provider can be recommended here as verified for the Tamil catalogue, territories, continuous live use, and Content ID handling you need. Identify the exact recordings and compositions first, then confirm scope with their rights holders.

2. Choose how to keep the stream running

Either route needs a coherent rotation, a visual feed, sensible transitions, and someone responsible for monitoring interruptions. An encoder or hosted service handles delivery; neither grants permission to use music.
Using OBS locally
For the do-it-yourself route, prepare your cleared audio files and visual in OBS, configure its stream output for YouTube, and keep the computer and connection active for the entire broadcast. The channel-specific stream key is managed through YouTube’s live control room; treat it as a credential and do not share it in chat or publish it. Exact bitrate, resolution, and hardware requirements depend on your media and setup and are not established here, so use the current settings guidance shown by YouTube and OBS rather than guessing.

Before a public launch, test the complete chain—audio, visual, transitions, and the YouTube connection—as an unlisted or private stream. Decide in advance who will notice a failure, inspect YouTube Studio, stop a problematic track, and restore the feed.

3. Build a request playlist that stays within your cleared catalogue
Do not let a chat command insert arbitrary songs or links directly into the live output. YouTube’s live-chat guidance recommends moderation: YouTube Help: Manage live chat. Use this workflow to make requests useful without treating them as licenses:
- Create the approved catalogue. List only tracks whose recording and composition rights cover your planned live use and territories. Keep the rights notes with each entry.
- Publish short request rules. Explain how to request a track, that requests depend on availability, and that a moderator may reject anything outside the approved catalogue.
- Review each request. Have a moderator match the title and artist to an entry in the cleared catalogue. Reject unmatched titles and links; do not assume a request bot or YouTube Music connection validates rights.
- Queue approved requests. Place accepted tracks into the next suitable slot rather than promising immediate playback.
- Log what played. Record the track and its rights notes so the operator can identify it if YouTube reports a match.
This is a moderation workflow, not a claim that YouTube provides a native song-request queue or that a particular bot integration works with YouTube Music.

4. Enable, test, and launch the channel
- At least 24 hours ahead: enable first-time live streaming and verify the channel, as advised by YouTube for Artists.
- Set up the broadcast: create the live stream in YouTube, use its stream key in your chosen encoder or hosted service, and check that the intended visual and playlist are selected.
- Test privately: run an unlisted or private test of the full audio/video chain before opening the stream to viewers. YouTube recommends testing the complete setup and planning chat moderation in its live streaming guide.
- Staff the chat: assign a moderator to apply the request rules, or turn chat off if nobody can monitor it.
- Choose archive settings: keep a replay only if your permissions also cover that use. YouTube notes that Content ID claims can be made on an archived live stream after it ends.
- Assign interruption roles: decide who monitors the feed, who can stop playback and inspect Studio, and who will contact a rights holder about a match.
5. Handle copyright matches and stream interruptions
If YouTube detects third-party material, check YouTube Studio for the match and follow the notice. Stop or remove the matched material, then contact the rights holder about the channel’s allowlist status. Do not repeatedly restart the same unreviewed track; resolve the match before it returns to the rotation. YouTube says all live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including other live broadcasts.
6. Plan archives and monetization carefully
An archive creates another use of the music, so confirm replay rights separately rather than assuming a live-stream permission includes it. A Content ID claim may arrive after the live broadcast has ended. YouTube for Artists lists ads, Supers, and shopping among live-stream earning features, but that does not establish eligibility for your channel or mean you own revenue associated with third-party music. 7. Troubleshooting
