To play recorded 10th standard classes as a continuous YouTube Live broadcast, send the recordings from an encoder as a live feed and configure its playback source or playlist to repeat. You can run the encoder on a computer that stays on and connected, or use a cloud service that plays uploaded videos. First confirm your channel is eligible, clear the rights to every part of the recordings, and test what happens when a lesson ends or the connection drops.

Before you set up the stream

Check live-streaming eligibility

YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Streamers must be at least 16. Confirm that Live is enabled for the channel before scheduling a broadcast. See YouTube’s Get started with live streaming.

Confirm you have permission to broadcast the material

Use lesson recordings, music, graphics, and other material that you are entitled to stream. YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party content; a detected match can cause a placeholder to replace the stream, or the broadcast to be interrupted or terminated. Even when you have a licence, the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID. Review YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Decide who should be able to watch

Choose Public, Unlisted, or Private in the live-stream settings to suit the class. Public streams are discoverable; Unlisted streams are accessible to people with the link; Private streams are limited to selected viewers. Check the current audience and visibility settings in Live Control Room before sharing the link. YouTube explains stream settings in Manage live stream settings.

Choose where the 24/7 playback will run

The encoder is what turns your recorded lesson playback into a live feed sent to YouTube. A local setup gives you direct control but depends on your computer and internet connection remaining operational. A cloud playout service runs the playback remotely, so your home computer need not stay on; check the provider’s terms, costs, storage, monitoring, and recovery behavior before choosing one.

Approach What stays on Control and trade-offs
Local encoder Your computer, encoder, and internet connection must keep working. You control the playback files and encoder settings. You are responsible for power, connectivity, software restarts, and monitoring.
Cloud playout The provider’s remote service runs the playback and sends the feed. Your computer can be off, but you rely on the provider’s terms and service behavior. Verify pricing, storage, monitoring, and recovery details directly.

You do not necessarily need new hardware for the local route: a suitable computer you already own may be enough. YouTube says expensive equipment is not required to start; choose hardware based on whether it can reliably play the files and encode the stream. See YouTube live streaming tips.

Create the YouTube Live stream

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create a new encoder stream or schedule one for the intended start time. Follow YouTube’s current encoder stream setup.
  2. Set the title, description, visibility, and other stream details. Make clear that the broadcast is a loop of recorded classes so viewers know what they are watching.
  3. Copy the stream URL and stream key from Live Control Room. Enter them in the encoder’s destination settings. The stream key is a credential: do not publish it or share it with viewers. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio before continuing. See Manage live stream settings.
  4. Keep the stream key private when working with helpers. Give access through appropriate channel permissions where possible rather than posting the key in a group chat or a public document.

Configure the lesson loop and test it

Build a playback source or playlist

Add the recorded lessons in the order you want viewers to see them, then enable repeat or loop in the playback software. Controls differ among encoders and versions, so use the current instructions for the software you choose rather than assuming one menu path applies everywhere.

Test the transitions that can break an unattended broadcast

  • Watch a file reach its end and confirm the next lesson starts without ending the YouTube broadcast.
  • Let the playlist reach its final item and verify it returns to the first lesson.
  • Test what happens if the encoder application is restarted and if the computer or network temporarily loses connectivity.
  • Listen for silence, clipped audio, or abrupt volume changes between recordings, and check that picture and sound remain in sync.
  • Run a test before announcing the stream. A successful initial connection alone does not show that the setup will run unattended.

YouTube documents how an encoder connects, but its reviewed guidance does not define the exact playlist-loop controls for every encoder. Verify loop and restart behavior in the software you are using.

Choose encoder settings that YouTube can receive reliably

YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends RTMP or RTMPS, H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval; the keyframe interval should not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS because it encrypts data sent to its servers. Select a resolution and bitrate that your sustained upload connection can support, then test with similar motion and audio to the actual classes. Use YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions guidance as the reference for supported settings.

  • Protocol: RTMPS where supported, or RTMP.
  • Video codec: H.264.
  • Rate control: CBR.
  • Keyframes: every two seconds; do not exceed four seconds.
  • Resolution and bitrate: choose according to YouTube’s current table and your stable upload capacity; do not assume a brief speed test represents continuous performance.

During the test and the live broadcast, watch Live Control Room’s stream health and check sound and picture from a viewer’s perspective. If the stream health deteriorates, reduce the load on the connection or adjust settings within YouTube’s recommendations.

Plan for replay and lesson access

A continuous broadcast is not a reliable substitute for individual on-demand lessons. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind on very long streams can also be limited or unavailable. Keep the original lesson files and publish separate on-demand lesson videos, or use shorter live sessions when dependable replay access matters. See YouTube’s encoder stream guidance and DVR settings guidance.

Troubleshoot common failures

  • You cannot start a live broadcast: check channel verification, live-stream access, and whether the channel has had a restriction in the previous 90 days. Confirm the account meets YouTube’s age requirement.
  • YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: recheck the stream URL and key, ensure the encoder is using the intended protocol, and confirm the computer or cloud service can reach the internet. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update the encoder.
  • The broadcast stops at the end of a lesson: the playback source may not be set to advance to the next item, or the playlist may not be set to repeat. Test file-end and playlist-end behavior in the chosen software.
  • The picture stutters or stream health is poor: check sustained upload capacity and whether other network activity is competing for bandwidth. Lower resolution or bitrate to a level the connection can maintain, keeping within YouTube’s current encoder recommendations.
  • The live stream is interrupted by a copyright match: remove material you lack rights to use or resolve the rights issue with the rights holder. A licence alone may not prevent interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted through Content ID.
  • Viewers cannot rewind or find a replay: this can be a limitation of very long streams, not necessarily a fault in the encoder. Keep separate lesson recordings available for on-demand viewing.
