Manage the playlist separately from the live stream itself—scheduling and stream settings are handled in YouTube’s Live Control Room.
Update the playlist in YouTube Studio
- On a computer, open YouTube Studio and go to Content > Playlists. Open the playlist menu and choose Edit on YouTube, then open the playlist you want to maintain. YouTube also documents editing playlist details from the Studio Playlists area. YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists
- Add the new walkaround. In the playlist, select Add videos and choose a video by searching, pasting its URL, or selecting it from your channel library. You can also add a video from its details page using the option to add it to a playlist. YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists
- Review the order. Drag and drop videos into the positions you want. YouTube allows manual reordering; it does not prescribe an order for dealership videos.
- Remove entries that are no longer useful to the playlist or were added by mistake. The YouTube Studio Android app also supports removing a video from a playlist. YouTube Studio app Help: Manage playlists
- Check the playlist title, description, and privacy setting. YouTube’s documented limits are 150 characters for a title and 5,000 characters for a description. Make sure the details accurately describe what viewers will find and that visibility suits the intended audience. YouTube Help: Create and manage playlists
- After the walkaround is published, revisit the playlist to confirm that the correct video appears in the intended position. Making this a checkpoint after each new video is practical editorial advice, not a YouTube requirement.
Choose an ordering policy for dealership viewers
Pick an order based on what a shopper needs, then use it consistently. If the main purpose is to show current inventory, placing the newest walkarounds first may make the latest additions easier to find. If viewers browse by a stable category or sequence, grouping videos that way may be clearer. These are editorial choices, not platform rules.
- Recency: Put newly published walkarounds near the top when freshness is the priority.
- Inventory browsing: Group videos according to the channel’s established browsing scheme if that helps viewers compare or locate vehicles.
- Consistency: Avoid changing the organizing principle from one update to the next; manual order is most useful when viewers can predict it.
Keep playlist maintenance separate from live setup
Use YouTube Studio playlist controls for membership, order, details, and visibility. Use the Live Control Room to manage stream settings and scheduled streams. YouTube’s help documentation describes these as separate workflows: scheduling or configuring a live stream does not automatically add its video to a playlist. You can edit stream metadata when creating a stream, from stream settings, or while scheduling, and YouTube also offers the option to reuse settings from a prior stream. A scheduled stream may appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds, where viewers can select “Notify me” to receive a notification when it is about to begin. Playlist inclusion itself is not described as a notification trigger. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings

Do not rely on tags as the main discovery strategy. YouTube says tags are descriptive keywords that can help when content is commonly misspelled; otherwise, they play a minimal role in video discovery. Accurate titles, useful descriptions, and a maintained playlist are more defensible editorial priorities. YouTube Help: Manage live stream settings
Make playlist changes on Android
The YouTube Studio Android app supports adding and removing videos through Content and the video’s edit controls, followed by saving. In the app’s Playlists tab, you can also edit playlist title, description, privacy, and order. Some functions may not be available to supervised accounts, and availability can vary by account.
