If you want playback to stop after you fall asleep, use YouTube’s Sleep Timer instead. A live broadcast is different: it has no finished video to loop until it ends and a replay becomes available.
Here, “stream” can mean either a live broadcast or a prerecorded video playing online. The steps below cover both, and distinguish looping from setting a stop time.
Choose what you want playback to do

Set a Sleep Timer to stop playback
Use the Sleep Timer if you want YouTube to pause after a set period, rather than play until morning. YouTube documents the control for desktop, Android, and iPhone or iPad.
On a computer
- Open the video in YouTube.
- Click Settings in the player.
- Choose Sleep Timer, then select a duration.
- If needed, reopen the setting to adjust the timer. YouTube says it sends a silent notification when playback pauses.
On Android or iPhone and iPad
- Open the video in the YouTube app.
- Tap Settings in the player.
- Choose Sleep timer and select a duration.
These steps follow YouTube Help’s desktop and mobile instructions: Sleep Timer on YouTube and YouTube Help for mobile Sleep Timer. The timer is a stop control, not a way to keep audio playing all night.

Loop one prerecorded video overnight
For a finite binaural beats video, Loop repeats that same video after it ends. The reported controls are as follows; labels and locations can vary with device or app version.
On desktop
- Open the prerecorded video.
- Right-click inside the video player.
- Choose Loop.
In the YouTube mobile app
- Open the video and tap Settings.
- Choose Additional settings.
- Tap Loop video.
The control descriptions and the distinction between Loop and Autoplay are reported by this third-party guide to looping YouTube videos. Autoplay is not a substitute: it moves to another video rather than restarting the one you chose.

If you mean a live broadcast
A live binaural beats broadcast does not have an end-of-video point to repeat while it is still live. Keep its player running if you want to continue watching the broadcast. If it ends and a replay becomes available, that finite replay may be looped using the video controls described above.
Why playback may stop before morning
Turning on Loop does not guarantee unattended playback for an entire night. A third-party guide reports that YouTube may show a “Video paused. Continue watching?” prompt during long sessions. This is not established as behavior on every device or session.

- If playback has stopped, check the screen for a continue-watching prompt.
- Check whether the internet connection is still available.
- If the app or browser appears unresponsive, reopen it and check that the video and Loop setting are still active.
Screen-off and background playback depend on device and account configuration. YouTube’s Sleep Timer instructions do not establish one universal setting path or screen-lock fix, so the steps above should not be read as a guarantee that audio will continue after you lock your device.
