The genuine no-cost routes are limited to introductory trials, verified student eligibility, a Family or Duo plan paid for by someone else, and selected mobile or internet-provider bundles.
Unofficial “Premium APKs,” account generators, stolen shared accounts, and payment-bypass tricks do not create real Premium access. They can also expose your Spotify password, install malware, or lead to account theft. The safest approach is to check Spotify’s current offer for your account, note the renewal date, and cancel correctly if you do not want to continue.

Current U.S. ways to use Spotify Premium without paying yourself
Spotify offers vary by country, account, date, and previous subscription history. The following options are listed on Spotify’s current U.S. pages.
1. Try Premium Individual for one month at $0
Spotify’s U.S. Premium page currently lists Premium Individual for $0 for one month, followed by $12.99 per month. The offer is for people who have not tried Premium before, and Spotify may require a payment method at checkout.

- Sign in or create an account.
- Complete checkout, then check the renewal price and date before confirming.
Having a payment method on file does not mean the trial is free forever. Unless you cancel, the subscription can renew at the displayed monthly price.
2. Use the three-month Student offer
Eligible U.S. college students can currently receive three months of Premium Student for $0. The listed price afterward is $6.99 per month, with Hulu included subject to the plan’s terms. The offer page says the promotion ends August 11, 2026.
Eligibility is narrower than simply being enrolled in any course. You must be at least 18 and attend an eligible U.S. Title IV-accredited college or university. Spotify uses SheerID to verify enrollment.
- Go to Spotify’s Student page.
- Select Get 3 months on us or Get Started.
- Sign in or create a Spotify account.
- Complete the SheerID verification using information that matches your school records.
- Finish checkout and confirm the price that applies after the trial.
Student eligibility must be checked annually. Spotify says eligible users can continue for up to 12 months after graduating or leaving school, then may reverify for up to three additional 12-month periods.

3. Join a genuine Family or Duo plan
A friend or relative can invite you to a Premium Family or Duo plan, with the plan manager paying the bill. This is not a loophole or an independently free subscription: Spotify’s rules require members to reside at the same address.
- Duo: two people at the same address.
- Family: up to six people at the same address.
- Verification: Spotify may ask members to confirm their address.
Do not use a fake address or buy an invitation from an unknown seller. An ineligible member can lose Premium access, and a seller may be trying to obtain your login details.
4. Check a phone or internet bundle
Some mobile, broadband, and other partners include Spotify Premium in their plans. Check the provider’s official website, app, or billing page rather than relying on a coupon site. If Spotify shows that your subscription is supplied through a partner, that partner controls billing and cancellation.
How to prevent a trial from becoming a paid subscription
Use Spotify’s account page rather than deleting the app. The cancellation path is:

- Open your Spotify account page.
- Select Manage your plan.
- Choose Cancel subscription.
- Continue through the confirmation screens until Spotify confirms the cancellation.
There is an important difference between a normal paid subscription and a $0 trial. With a paid plan, cancellation normally leaves Premium active until the next billing date. Spotify says that canceling a zero-priced free trial changes the account to Spotify Free immediately, and the trial cannot be reactivated. Your playlists and saved music remain available.
Set a calendar reminder a few days before the renewal date, and save the cancellation confirmation. This is especially useful when the subscription was started through a phone, internet, app-store, or other partner.
Why the free offer may not appear

Do not trust older articles that say every user receives three free months. Spotify’s current U.S. Individual listing shows one month, while the three-month listing is for eligible Students and has a stated end date.
What to do if you were charged after canceling
First, open the Spotify account page and check the plan and payment information. If the account says Spotify Free but a charge appears, the payment may belong to another account created with a different email address, phone number, Apple login, or Google login.

Also check whether the subscription is billed by a partner. Spotify cannot normally cancel a plan that a mobile provider or another partner manages. If you were charged twice, or the account status does not match the billing, use Spotify Support’s payment and account-help pages and contact the relevant provider.

Modified Spotify apps cannot legitimately change the Premium status held on Spotify’s servers. They may appear to unlock features temporarily, then stop working after an app or server update. More seriously, an unofficial app or website can capture your password, session information, or payment details.
If you entered your Spotify credentials into one:
- Reset your Spotify password immediately.
- Change that password anywhere else it was reused.
- Open your Spotify account page and select Sign out everywhere.
- Under Manage apps, choose Remove Access for suspicious third-party connections.
Spotify says signing out everywhere can take up to one hour. It may not automatically sign you out of some partner devices, including TVs, game consoles, and speakers; remove access to those devices separately.
What Spotify Free still includes
If none of the legitimate offers applies, Spotify Free is the official no-cost option. On mobile, Smart Shuffle is always active, so songs cannot be played in any order on demand in the same way as Premium. Free users can download podcasts for offline listening, but offline music downloads require Premium.

FAQ
Can I get Spotify Premium free forever?
No. Spotify does not offer a legitimate permanent free Premium plan. You can use a qualifying trial, student offer, partner bundle, or Family/Duo invitation, but each has conditions and limits.
Can I get another free trial by creating a new email address?
Not legitimately or reliably. Spotify’s Individual offer is limited to people who have not tried Premium before. Making additional accounts to evade that rule can also create account and billing problems.
Will I keep Premium until the end if I cancel a $0 trial?
Usually not. Spotify says canceling a zero-priced trial switches the account to Spotify Free immediately. Your playlists and saved music remain available, but the trial cannot be reactivated.
Are Spotify Premium APKs safe?
No. They do not provide legitimate server-side Premium access and may contain malware or steal credentials. If you used one, reset your password, sign out everywhere, and remove suspicious app access from your Spotify account.
