An OBS reconnect loop is a symptom, not proof that Tata Play Fiber is at fault. OBS says dropped frames and intermittent disconnections point to an unstable connection between your computer and the streaming service’s ingest server. Check the stream key and encoder first, then compare bitrate, ingest server, network settings, and Ethernet versus Wi-Fi—one change at a time. The available guidance does not establish a Tata Play Fiber-specific cause or a provider-only OBS fix.
What an OBS reconnect loop tells you
OBS sends the stream directly from your computer to the streaming service; it does not route it through an OBS streaming server. The relevant path therefore includes your computer, local network, ISP route, and YouTube ingest server. OBS’s official troubleshooting guide says: “If you experience dropped frames or intermittent disconnections while streaming, there is a network issue between your computer and the remote stream ingest server.” That identifies the connection path as the place to investigate, not which part of it is failing.
OBS says dropped frames occur when the connection to the remote server is unstable or cannot sustain the selected bitrate; enough dropped frames can disconnect the stream. It says dropped frames are extremely unlikely to be caused by OBS itself. YouTube separately advises checking encoder output and the outbound internet connection. Neither source verifies that Tata Play Fiber causes this particular problem. Don’t assume CGNAT, IPv6, throttling, or an outage without evidence from your own tests or the provider.
1. Record what happens before changing settings
Capture a baseline so you can tell whether a test helped. In OBS, open View → Stats and watch the dropped-frames counters during a stream. Record the time and duration of each disconnect, whether network-dropped frames rise, and whether other internet activity on the same computer stalls at the same time. Save the OBS log for the affected session.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Note the stream’s video bitrate and the ingest/server choice in use.
- Record whether you are connected by Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and whether other devices or services lose connectivity.
- Change one setting or connection condition per test, then compare the result. Simultaneous changes make the cause harder to identify.
2. Check YouTube and the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and check the stream status and any reported errors.
- If you use a stream key with OBS, verify that OBS has the correct key. If you changed or reset the key in YouTube Studio, update it in the encoder too.
- Confirm OBS is current and inspect its preview and output. Check that picture and sound are being encoded as expected.
- If the encoder output looks healthy but the stream still disconnects, investigate the outbound connection. YouTube advises contacting your ISP when an internet connection test identifies a problem.
3. Test OBS network settings one at a time
Lower the video bitrate temporarily
OBS suggests using 75% of total upload speed as a starting point when troubleshooting dropped frames. Treat that as a general diagnostic heuristic from OBS, not a guaranteed Tata Play Fiber threshold or a YouTube-specific maximum. If a lower bitrate stops the disconnects, your upload path may not be sustaining the original setting consistently; the trade-off is lower video quality. Change the video bitrate for the test and compare the Stats window.
Try another available ingest server
If OBS offers another stream server or ingest choice, test it without changing other settings. A different result can help isolate a route or ingest-specific problem, but it does not prove the ISP is responsible.

Restore the default network binding
In OBS, open Settings → Advanced → Network and set Bind to IP to Default. This avoids binding OBS to a particular interface or address while diagnosing the connection.
Use IPv4-only as a temporary test
In the same Network settings, try IP Family → IPv4 Only. If the reconnect loop is unchanged, restore the default IPv4-and-IPv6 behavior. This is a diagnostic comparison, not a recommendation to disable IPv6 permanently.

On Windows, test network optimizations and TCP pacing
OBS lists Enable network optimizations and Enable TCP pacing as settings some users report can help. Test them individually if they are available in your OBS version; neither is a guaranteed fix.
Use dynamic bitrate only as a fallback
OBS’s dynamic bitrate option can reduce the bitrate when congestion affects the connection. It may help keep a stream from disconnecting, but picture quality can drop and the underlying connection problem remains.

4. Separate Wi-Fi and local-network problems from the ISP path
- Compare Ethernet with Wi-Fi. If you are streaming over Wi-Fi, test a wired connection to the router. A Cat6 Ethernet cable is an optional way to make that comparison; it is not a guaranteed fix.
- Check software that can affect traffic. OBS recommends testing whether a VPN, firewall or security suite, or network-prioritization software is interfering. Temporarily test suspected interference only if safe to do so, then restore security protections and add an OBS exception if appropriate.
- Restart the modem/router. After the restart, repeat the same stream test and settings so the comparison is useful.
- Check drivers and hardware later. Consider network drivers, cables, and local hardware after simpler comparisons. OBS advises involving the ISP before replacing hardware when you are unsure what is faulty.
A comparison on another device or network can help narrow the location of the problem. If the same computer streams reliably on another network but not on Tata Play Fiber, that is useful evidence to share with the provider, not conclusive proof of a particular fault. Testing another streaming service may show whether a symptom is service-specific, but OBS cautions that it does not resolve a connection problem specific to one service.

If the encoder checks and local-network comparisons still point to unstable outbound connectivity, contact Tata Play Fiber support. Give them evidence they can investigate rather than only saying that OBS reconnects.
