Then verify that the YouTube server URL and stream key are in their separate fields. If the error mentions SSL, a timeout, or failure to connect, check the server protocol and network connection instead of repeatedly changing the key. The available official guidance describes YouTube and general OBS troubleshooting; it does not establish that JioFiber is blocking YouTube Live.
1. Replace the saved key with the current YouTube key

Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Select the stream you intend to start.

Copy its current stream key. YouTube’s guidance for an error starting a third-party encoder is: “To fix it, get a new stream key in the Live Control Room and update your encoder.” See YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting instructions.

In OBS, open Settings > Stream, then paste the current key into the stream-key field. Save or apply the change and try connecting again.

A stream key can be stale if OBS retained settings from a previously used stream. Don’t assume a saved key is still the one selected in YouTube Studio. If the key was reset, the replacement must also be entered in OBS. YouTube says only a channel owner or manager can reset a key; see YouTube’s stream settings guidance.
2. Confirm the server URL and key are in the right fields
The server URL and stream key are separate encoder settings, not interchangeable values. In OBS, check Settings > Stream and verify that the YouTube server URL is in the server field and the key is in the stream-key field. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions treat them as separate settings. Inspect both values, particularly when using a saved or previously configured stream.
If you sign in to YouTube through an integration inside third-party software rather than entering a stream key, YouTube directs users to that software’s support team; the integration may need an update. The stream-key procedure above applies when OBS is configured with a key.

3. Match the fix to the error wording
“Stream key rejected” or “error starting your encoder”
Start with the current key and its placement in OBS. A key rejection points to a credential/configuration check; it does not by itself establish a JioFiber network fault. Use the current key from the selected stream in Live Control Room rather than repeatedly retrying an old saved value.

SSL error or timeout
Check the protocol and server address. If RTMPS is selected, the server URL should use RTMPS, and the encoder must support RTMPS. YouTube says port 443 can be specified for an SSL error. Follow the server details shown in YouTube’s RTMPS setup guidance; changing the key repeatedly is not the first response to an SSL or timeout message.
“Failed to connect to server”
After checking the key, server, and protocol, investigate the connection between OBS and the ingest server. OBS lists network stability, Wi-Fi, VPN or security-software interference, IP-family selection, router/modem conditions, and the ISP connection path as variables. Its connection troubleshooting guide recommends using IPv4 only as a test; if it does not help, restore the default IPv4/IPv6 setting.

4. Isolate Wi-Fi, OBS, and the connection path

Update OBS. Make sure you are using a current version before diagnosing further.

Try Ethernet if you are on Wi-Fi. Connect the streaming computer to the router by cable and retry. If that works, Wi-Fi or local network conditions may be involved; it does not prove the key was valid or that JioFiber caused the original failure. A standard Ethernet cable is useful only for this conditional test, and will not fix a stale key or incorrect server setting.

Check VPN and security software. Temporarily test whether a VPN, firewall, or other security software is interfering with OBS’s connection. Restore normal protection after the test and use the software’s supported settings rather than leaving protections disabled.

Test OBS’s IP-family setting. In OBS network settings, try IPv4-only as a troubleshooting test. If it makes no difference, return to the default IPv4/IPv6 selection.

Restart the router or modem. This can help with general connectivity problems, but it does not correct an incorrect key or server URL.

Compare with another connection, if available. A temporary alternate connection can help determine whether the remaining variable is the network path. A successful alternate-connection test points to a difference in connection conditions; it does not, on its own, prove JioFiber blocks YouTube Live.

Do not treat inbound port forwarding as a default fix. If the key, server, and protocol are correct and connection tests still fail, give Jio support the exact error, the time it occurred, and the results of wired or alternate-connection tests. The official YouTube and OBS guidance does not confirm a JioFiber-specific block, so describe the connection-path evidence rather than assuming a cause.
