How to Estimate Switchboard Live Costs for Streaming Several YouTube Channels

Switchboard Live lists seat-based monthly or annual licenses but no public dollar prices. Estimate plan fit by counting users, concurrent inputs, channels, and required features—not by multiplying a guessed fee per channel.

Switchboard Live does not publish dollar prices on its public pricing page. Its plans are described as monthly or annual, seat-based licenses, so the reliable way to estimate your cost is to identify the people, inputs, simultaneous workflows, and features you need, then request a quote. Do not multiply an assumed fee by the number of YouTube channels: Switchboard says its displayed plans include unlimited destinations, and its help material says custom RTMP destinations do not carry an extra fee.

What determines a Switchboard Live quote?

Switchboard’s public plan summaries distinguish packages by account seats and capabilities, not by a published per-YouTube-channel rate. They list unlimited multistreaming destinations, while the plans differ in input count and protocol, archive options, continuous-streaming support, phone support, and account hierarchy. The official pricing page says, “We offer monthly or annual seat based licenses.” It does not state the dollar amounts, taxes, discounts, or account-specific terms.

That means a channel count alone is not enough to predict the quote. Tell Switchboard how many channels and concurrent streams you intend to operate, and ask it to confirm that the proposed plan supports that exact workflow.

Build a useful estimate before requesting a quote

  1. Count account users. The displayed SMB plan lists two team members; Public Sector lists three; Enterprise lists three or more. Confirm the current seat rules and price for your account rather than assuming these summaries settle your licensing terms.
  2. Count inputs and simultaneous encoder workflows. The displayed SMB plan lists one RTMP input. Public Sector lists one RTMP or SRT input, and Enterprise lists three RTMP or SRT inputs. Switchboard’s FAQ says two or more encoder workflows can run simultaneously, each with its own server URL and stream key. Ask which plan accommodates your required number of concurrent workflows and protocols.
  3. List every destination and channel. Switchboard describes the plan destinations as unlimited, and its help material says there are no additional fees or upcharges for custom RTMP destinations. YouTube is listed as a native destination. Destination count therefore is not a published pricing unit in the public information; still, have Switchboard confirm that your account terms and the intended channel arrangement are covered.
  4. Identify storage and operations needs. Public Sector lists a 30-day archive. Enterprise lists 30+ day archives, 24/7 streams, phone support, and account hierarchy. Ask whether you need any of these features and whether they change the quote.
  5. Describe your expected usage. Switchboard recommends considering the number of streams, their length, and their frequency when selecting a subscription. Give the sales team your anticipated schedule so it can assess plan fit; do not treat usage guidance as a published pricing formula.
  6. Separate service fees from production equipment. Switchboard receives a feed from an encoder and lists OBS, free software, among compatible encoder choices. It also lists paid or cloud encoder categories and physical encoders. A hardware encoder, camera, microphone, capture card, or network accessory is not established as a mandatory Switchboard subscription cost; include one in a separate production budget only if your setup needs it.

What the public plan summaries show

Plan summary Team members listed Input listed Other listed capabilities
SMB 2 1 RTMP Unlimited multistreaming destinations
Public Sector 3 1 RTMP or SRT Unlimited multistreaming destinations; 30-day archive
Enterprise 3 or more 3 RTMP or SRT Unlimited multistreaming destinations; 30+ day archives; 24/7 streams; phone support; account hierarchy

These are features stated in Switchboard’s public plan summaries, not a guarantee that every account receives identical terms. The page does not publish prices. Ask for the plan definitions and quote currently applicable to your organization.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Does Switchboard charge per YouTube channel?

The public material reviewed does not describe a per-channel charge. Switchboard says destinations are unlimited in its plan summaries and that custom RTMP destinations do not incur extra fees. So do not estimate your bill by multiplying a guessed amount by the number of YouTube channels. Confirm the planned channels, destination setup, and any account-specific conditions directly with Switchboard.

Can you stream to several YouTube channels at once?

Switchboard’s YouTube setup guidance says multiple channels accessible through the same Google login can be connected and then enabled in a stream group. Each channel must have live streaming enabled before authorization; Switchboard says activation can take up to 24 hours. If your channels use different Google logins or require a particular concurrent workflow, confirm the supported setup with Switchboard before relying on it for a scheduled broadcast.

Questions to include in the quote request

  • How many team members need account access?
  • How many simultaneous encoder inputs or workflows are required, and do they use RTMP, SRT, or both?
  • How many YouTube channels and other destinations will receive each stream?
  • How long are the streams, how often will they run, and do any need to remain live 24/7?
  • Do you need archives, and what retention period is necessary?
  • Do you need phone support or account hierarchy?
  • What are the monthly and annual prices, contract terms, taxes, discounts, and any usage or account-specific limits?

How to interpret the 99-minute trial

Switchboard’s trial article describes a 99-broadcast-minute trial for its Indie and Pro plans. That is a trial allowance for evaluating the service, not a public post-trial price or a valid basis for extrapolating a subscription rate. Ask which trial and paid plan apply to your intended account.

Keep the production budget separate

Switchboard acts as the bridge between an encoder feed and destinations. Its encoder guidance lists software, hardware, mobile, and cloud categories, and identifies OBS as free software. You may have production costs for cameras, microphones, capture cards, or dedicated encoding hardware, but the public Switchboard information does not establish those items as necessary to buy a subscription. First check whether equipment and software you already have can provide the required feed.

A different fit for a single always-on YouTube channel

If your actual goal is to keep one prerecorded-video YouTube stream running continuously—not to distribute live encoder feeds to several channels—StreamNeo is a distinct option to consider. It loops uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer can be off; every slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Its first day is free with no card. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube and uploaded videos, not a replacement for a multi-channel encoder workflow. Start the free first day.

How to compare Switchboard quotes

Ask each provider to price the same requirements. Compare billing term and seats; simultaneous input or workflow limits and protocols; destination terms; archive retention; continuous-stream support; support channels; account hierarchy; and the precise number of channels and streams involved. Switchboard’s public pricing page does not provide dollar figures, so a meaningful dollar comparison requires current quotes for a like-for-like setup.
