How to Create a 24/7 YouTube Marathi Lofi Radio Stream with FFmpeg

A practical FFmpeg and YouTube Live setup guide for a Marathi lofi radio stream, including rights, encoding settings, testing, recovery and session limits.

You can run a Marathi lofi radio stream on YouTube by looping rights-cleared audio and visuals through FFmpeg, sending the encoded feed to YouTube Live, and monitoring it for failures. FFmpeg can repeat media and transmit it, but it does not provide music rights or guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast. For a true 24/7 stream, plan for reconnects, operator alerts and YouTube’s stream-session limits as carefully as you plan the encoding.

What you need before starting

  • A computer or hosted machine that can run FFmpeg continuously, with enough processing capacity and stable upload bandwidth.
  • Marathi lofi audio and visuals whose permissions cover YouTube livestreaming, your intended territories and monetization, if applicable.
  • A YouTube channel enabled for live streaming and access to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
  • An FFmpeg build with the encoders and protocols your command uses, including libx264 and RTMPS support if you follow the example below.

There is no single command that works unchanged for every media file, FFmpeg build, channel or network. The example later assumes one file contains both video and audio; adapt it if your audio is separate, and test privately before relying on it.

Prepare music and visuals you have permission to stream

Use tracks and visual material licensed for the actual use you intend: a continuous YouTube livestream, the countries where it will be available, and monetization where relevant. Keep records of the rights and any instructions from the rights holder about Content ID. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption: YouTube says even licensed third-party material can require the channel to be allowlisted by the rights owner. YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance explains that broadcasts are scanned for third-party matches and that detected material can lead to a placeholder, interruption or termination.

Listen to the start and end of the audio loop, and inspect the visual loop for abrupt transitions, unintended black frames and aspect-ratio problems. If audio and visuals are separate, confirm that they remain synchronized and that your input mapping selects the intended streams.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Create or schedule the YouTube Live event

  1. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create a stream or schedule one. A scheduled event can provide a watch-page URL and reminder option. See YouTube’s encoder setup.
  2. Set the title, description, visibility and other event details. Check the visibility before broadcasting so the stream is not accidentally public while you are testing.
  3. Copy the ingest server URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room. Configure FFmpeg to send to that current URL and key; do not assume a sample ingest URL is valid for your event.
  4. Treat the key as a secret: it functions like the encoder’s address/password combination. Do not publish it, include it in a public screenshot or share it in logs. YouTube supports reusing stream settings and managing custom keys; see Manage live stream settings.

Choose resolution, bitrate and keyframe settings

Use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations for your resolution and frame rate rather than treating one bitrate as universal. Its current guidance recommends H.264 over RTMP/RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), frame rates up to 60 fps, and a keyframe interval of two seconds (no more than four seconds). For H.264, the guidance lists 6 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps and 14 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps. For RTMP/RTMPS it recommends stereo AAC audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. These are YouTube recommendations, not guarantees that your encoder or connection can sustain the selected rate. Consult YouTube’s current encoder settings and bitrate table for the resolution and frame rate you plan to send.

For a 30 fps output, a two-second keyframe interval corresponds to a GOP of 60 frames. In the illustrative command, -g 60 sets that GOP length. The command uses 2.5 Mbps for video as an example only; it is not the recommended rate for every resolution. Set resolution and bitrate deliberately, then run an upload-speed test and leave headroom for network variation. YouTube transcodes the incoming feed into viewer outputs.

Build and test the FFmpeg command

FFmpeg options generally apply to the next input or output, so their position matters. Put input options such as -re and -stream_loop before the corresponding -i; put mapping and output encoding options after the inputs and before the output URL. The FFmpeg command-line documentation describes this ordering, -re as reading at the input’s native rate (equivalent to -readrate 1), and -stream_loop -1 as looping an input indefinitely.

This structural example assumes visual.mp4 contains both the visual and audio streams. Replace the file path, ingest URL and key with your own values, and verify option support in your installed FFmpeg build:

  -map 0:v:0 -map 0:a:0
  -c:v libx264 -pix_fmt yuv420p -preset veryfast
  -r 30 -g 60 -b:v 2500k -maxrate 2500k -bufsize 5000k
  -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
  -f flv "rtmps://YOUR_YOUTUBE_INGEST/YOUR_STREAM_KEY"
  • -re paces file reading for live-like output; it is useful when a file is acting as a live source.
  • -stream_loop -1 repeats the input indefinitely. It does not ensure a seamless musical transition at the loop boundary.
  • -map 0:v:0 -map 0:a:0 explicitly selects the first video and audio streams from input 0. If audio is in a different file, add and loop that input as appropriate, then map the intended audio stream rather than assuming it is input 0’s first audio stream.
  • -c:v libx264, -pix_fmt yuv420p and the video rate options define an H.264 output example. Choose a bitrate that matches the target resolution and YouTube’s current table.
  • -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100 selects AAC audio at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz, matching YouTube’s listed RTMP/RTMPS audio recommendation.
  • -f flv selects the usual RTMP-family output container. Use the current RTMPS ingest URL displayed in Live Control Room.

Test the actual files and machine: listen for clipping, silence and loop clicks; check video framing and motion; confirm audio-video synchronization and timestamps; and watch CPU use and upload stability. YouTube recommends testing with audio and movement similar to the intended broadcast. No particular Marathi playlist, FFmpeg build, machine or connection is validated by this example.

Start the stream and verify what viewers see

  1. Start FFmpeg and check its console output for connection errors, encoder failures and unexpected stream termination.
  2. Wait for the feed to appear in the Live Control Room preview. Confirm both audio and video before starting the event or making it public.
  3. Use the appropriate Live Control Room controls to start the broadcast, then open the public watch page from a viewer’s perspective to check playback and visibility.
  4. Keep the Live Control Room stream-health messages visible during the broadcast. Follow YouTube’s livestreaming tips and retain logs so an operator can identify when the encoder stopped or the connection failed.

Plan for recovery and YouTube session boundaries

A looped input is not the same as an automatically recovered broadcast. FFmpeg documents a FIFO muxer recovery mode for temporary network failures and protocol-specific reconnect options, but behavior depends on the protocol and configuration. Reconnecting an input source is also different from successfully reconnecting an output to YouTube. Review the FFmpeg all-documentation FIFO section and protocol documentation for options that apply to your setup; do not treat them as end-to-end uptime guarantees.

For a continuous channel, decide who or what notices a stopped process, who can restart it, and how the stream will be checked after a restart. A process supervisor, hosted machine, backup connection and human alerts are possible operational choices, not guarantees that failures cannot occur. Rehearse a failure and restart before relying on the stream.

YouTube’s encoder setup guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a single session or archive will cover an indefinite 24/7 broadcast. Plan for stream-session boundaries and verify YouTube’s current Live Control Room behavior before deployment: Create a live stream with an encoder.

Choose where FFmpeg runs

Option What to weigh
Your own computer It must remain on and connected, and you need a way to detect and recover from a stopped process or network failure.
A hosted machine It can avoid relying on a home computer and connection, but you still need to configure, supervise and recover the encoder. No particular hosting provider is established here.

Likewise, one combined audio/video file is simpler to map, while separate inputs allow independent visual and audio choices but require deliberate mapping, synchronization and loop testing.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you would rather not keep an FFmpeg machine running at home, StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded video in the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. Each slot supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required; one free day is available per account.

StreamNeo plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting from a camera, and it streams to YouTube. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Start the free day at StreamNeo registration.
