Convert The Recording Step By Step
- Pick the closest supported workflow. Use SongUp AI for an explicitly sung, hummed or whistled idea. Use Songscription when you want vocal coverage plus several notation exports. Use Klangio Transcription Studio or MuScriptor for recordings with more than one sounding part. Use Melody Scanner for a short melody or chord transcription when its five-minute input limit is sufficient.
- Open the tool and upload the working file. Follow the service’s audio-upload control, or use its supported recording, video or link input. For a vocal-only result, submit the isolated vocal rather than a full mix whenever your source allows it.
- Set the source description if the interface asks for one. Choose the closest melody, vocal or instrument option exposed by the tool. Do not select an unsupported instrument or assume that a setting exists; vendor interfaces and supported labels can change.
- Run the transcription. Let the service create its notation or MIDI representation. Short test clips are useful for finding the right workflow before spending time on a complete performance.
- Inspect every phrase. Compare the displayed notes with the recording, listening for octave jumps, missed notes, doubled notes and incorrect note lengths. Correct the result in the service when editing is available, or make those edits after importing the MIDI into your DAW or notation program.

Fix Common MIDI Problems
- Wrong octave: transpose the affected notes by an octave after checking them against the sung pitch.
- Choppy rhythm: lengthen short fragments and apply light quantization while preserving intentional syncopation.
- Missed consonant-to-vowel attacks: compare the MIDI onset with the vowel’s musical pitch, since spoken consonants are not stable pitched notes.
- Too many notes from accompaniment: isolate the vocal or choose a tool and workflow intended for separate parts; Melody Scanner does not separate multiple instruments.
