To connect LiveReacting to YouTube, open your project’s settings in LiveReacting Studio, find Connecting Streaming Channel under Primary Settings, and select the plus icon. Authorize the Google account that owns or manages the channel, then select the YouTube channel. For someone else’s channel, have its owner authorize access through LiveReacting’s invitation flow instead of sharing a password.
Connect a YouTube channel you control
- Open the project settings. In LiveReacting Studio, open the project you want to use.
- Start the connection. In Primary Settings, select the plus icon beside Connecting Streaming Channel.
- Authorize access. Complete the Google authorization flow using an account with access to the channel, then select the YouTube channel to connect. Review the permissions and confirm.
LiveReacting’s Studio guide describes the plus-icon connection flow. The exact screen labels may change, so use the equivalent channel-connection option if your Studio interface differs.
Connect a client’s or partner’s channel
If you are producing a stream for a channel owned by someone else, the owner should authorize the connection using LiveReacting’s partner invitation flow. This lets the owner grant access without handing over their Google password.
- In LiveReacting, open Stream Settings → Connect Accounts → YouTube Channels and generate an invitation link.
- Send the link to the channel owner.
- The owner opens it, chooses the relevant Google account and YouTube channel, reviews the permissions, and confirms the authorization.
- Confirm in LiveReacting that the channel is available for the project.
LiveReacting says the authorization uses Google’s OAuth system, does not share passwords, grants streaming-related access, and can be revoked by the owner. For current access details, have the owner review the authorization prompt before confirming. See LiveReacting’s partner-channel instructions.

Check that YouTube Live is enabled
Connecting a channel and being eligible to broadcast are separate steps. If the channel has not enabled YouTube Live, LiveReacting’s troubleshooting instructions say to open YouTube Studio, choose Content → Live, and select Get Started. Complete account verification if prompted. LiveReacting says activation may take up to 24 hours; treat that as its help-page estimate, not a guaranteed or universal waiting period. Attach the project to an already scheduled YouTube stream
If you created the event directly in YouTube already, connect the channel first, then use LiveReacting’s existing-event option rather than creating a duplicate.

- Open the project settings and connect the correct YouTube channel.
- In Advanced Settings, enable Connect to existing stream.
- Select the scheduled YouTube event you want LiveReacting to use.
- Review its details and the remaining stream settings before broadcasting.

- Title and description: Confirm they are correct, especially if you attached an existing event and its details were imported.
- Privacy: LiveReacting lists Public, Private, and Unlisted choices. Select the one intended for your audience.
- Schedule and duration: Confirm the planned start and duration. LiveReacting says the schedule uses the device’s time zone, so check the time-zone setting on the device you use.
- Channel and event: Verify the selected channel is the right one and, when reusing an event, that it is the intended scheduled stream.

Troubleshooting connection problems
- The channel does not appear: Check that you authorized the Google account with access to the intended YouTube channel. If another person owns it, use the owner invitation flow and have the owner complete authorization.
- You can connect but cannot start a broadcast: Check whether YouTube Live is enabled for the channel. Follow the YouTube Studio activation steps above and allow for possible processing time.
- You see the wrong scheduled event: Recheck the connected channel, then return to Advanced Settings and choose the intended event under Connect to existing stream.
- The scheduled time looks wrong: Check the device’s time zone; LiveReacting’s guide says scheduling follows that setting.
- The owner wants to remove access: Ask the owner to revoke the connection rather than sharing or changing their password. LiveReacting says access can be revoked by the owner.
