YouTube Live Control Room and MyJio can help you trace a troubled loop stream, but the reviewed official tools do not provide a raw packet-loss meter. Start with YouTube’s timestamped stream-health errors, compare them with your encoder’s output, then check the outbound connection and run MyJio Run Diagnostics. Treat the results as clues about the stream, encoder, connection, or Wi-Fi—not proof of packet loss or proof that JioFiber caused it.
What to check first—and what the results mean
A warning in Live Control Room, a viewer’s playback complaint, an encoder problem, and raw packet loss are different kinds of evidence. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance separates viewer-side issues from encoder and connection symptoms. The sources reviewed here do not document a raw packet-loss counter in YouTube Live Control Room or a customer-facing packet-loss measurement in Jio’s tools. Apply the general live-stream checks below to a prerecorded video loop; the cited guidance does not describe a separate diagnostic procedure for loops.
Use this sequence: record the symptom and time, inspect stream health and encoder output, test the outbound connection, then check JioFiber and the home Wi-Fi. YouTube recommends choosing a quality the connection can reliably support, testing upload bitrate, testing before going live, and monitoring stream health during the event (YouTube encoder settings guidance).
1. Record the interruption before changing anything
Open YouTube Live Control Room and note the exact health message and timestamp. Also record when the interruption began and ended, the encoder’s displayed status, and whether the local output or recording looks affected. Live Control Room displays timestamped errors and instructions; red errors are critical, while yellow errors indicate moderate issues (YouTube Live Control Room guidance).

- Write down the YouTube error text, its color, and the time it appeared.
- Note the encoder’s connection status and any reported dropped frames or warnings, without assuming those automatically mean packet loss.
- Check whether the local encoder output or archive has the same visual or audio problem.
- If viewers have complained, note whether it is one viewer or several on separate connections.
2. Check whether the encoder settings fit the stream
Compare your encoder configuration with YouTube’s published settings guidance, then test the upload bitrate and choose a quality your connection can reliably sustain. YouTube documents RTMP and RTMPS ingestion, recommends constant bitrate (CBR), recommends a two-second keyframe interval (not exceeding four seconds), and recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport (YouTube encoder settings guidance).

These figures are YouTube’s encoder-setting recommendations, not JioFiber upload guarantees. If the selected resolution exceeds the bandwidth available to the stream, YouTube recommends lowering the resolution. A speed test and a pre-live test can help you judge whether the chosen bitrate is sustainable; keep monitoring health once the stream is running.

3. Separate an encoder problem from an outbound connection problem
Check how the loop looks and sounds in the encoder’s own output. YouTube advises updating the encoder, checking CPU load and the local archive if quality is poor, and trying another encoder when appropriate. If the encoder output is healthy, move on to the outbound internet connection and test it (YouTube live-stream troubleshooting).
- Local output is also poor: investigate the encoder, its settings, CPU load, or source file before blaming the connection.
- Only one viewer reports trouble: YouTube says that viewer’s computer or internet connection is a likely cause.
- Several viewers on different connections report trouble: YouTube says the encoder may be the issue.
- Encoder output looks healthy but the stream has trouble reaching YouTube: test the outbound connection. If that test finds a connection problem, YouTube advises contacting the ISP.
Use these distinctions to narrow the cause; none alone proves raw packet loss.

4. Check JioFiber, router, and Wi-Fi in MyJio
- Link your JioFiber account in the MyJio app if it is not already linked.
- Open Home, select JioCare, then choose Run Diagnostics.
- Review the diagnostic results and follow the on-screen steps for any detected issue.
Jio says Run Diagnostics checks network health, router status, Wi-Fi strength, and device connectivity. It may identify weak Wi-Fi, an offline router, loose cables, speed drops, or configuration errors, and provide on-screen troubleshooting steps (Jio Run Diagnostics FAQ).
Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet, if practical
Repeat the same stream test with the streaming computer connected to the router by Ethernet instead of its usual Wi-Fi, keeping the encoder settings the same. This comparison can help isolate the home wireless segment, based on YouTube’s outbound-connection checks and Jio’s Wi-Fi diagnostics. A better wired result does not, by itself, show where any upstream loss occurs or establish that JioFiber is at fault.

5. Compare test results consistently
When you have more than one observation, compare like with like. Keep the encoder settings fixed while comparing wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and line up timestamps across YouTube health, encoder status, and connection tests.
- Local output versus YouTube health: determine whether the fault is visible before the stream leaves the encoder or appears only in the delivered stream.
- Upload result versus configured bitrate: check whether the connection test supports the encoder’s chosen output; a test result is not a guarantee of sustained performance.
- One viewer versus multiple viewers: distinguish a viewer-specific playback problem from an issue affecting viewers on separate connections.
- Wi-Fi versus Ethernet: check whether changing the home wireless segment changes the symptoms, without treating that as proof about the upstream route.
6. When to contact support
If the encoder output is healthy but connection tests indicate a problem, YouTube advises contacting your ISP. If MyJio Run Diagnostics detects a JioFiber issue, follow its on-screen troubleshooting steps and support options. Give support a concise record rather than only saying “packet loss.”
