Check the receipt and the billing account used to pay. YouTube says Super Chats are voluntary, non-refundable payments, so an ordinary Super Chat purchase should not be expected to receive a refund. If you are checking creator-side activity, use YouTube Studio; if you did not make the charge, report it as unauthorized instead.
Check a Super Chat payment as the viewer who paid
- Find the purchase receipt. Search the email account associated with the purchase for the receipt YouTube sent after the Super Chat or Super Sticker payment. The receipt is a record of the purchase; it does not by itself show that a refund was issued.
- Check the billing account and payment method used. For Google-billed purchases, go to pay.google.com and look for the transaction. Confirm you are signed in to the Google account used to pay. New Super Chat, Super Sticker, or Super Thanks purchases made in the Android app may be billed through Google Play, so check the Google account and payment method associated with that purchase.
- Read the transaction status carefully. In YouTube’s general refund troubleshooting guidance, “Refunded” means a credit should appear on the original payment method. “Cancelled” means the order was not charged, so there is no credit to wait for. These general status meanings do not override YouTube’s separate policy that Super Chats are non-refundable.
If you paid through Apple, check the Apple receipt and the billing record or support route for that purchase. The billing provider can vary by purchase route, so a missing entry at Google Payments does not establish that a payment was refunded.

What YouTube’s refund policy means
YouTube describes Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and YouTube Giving as “voluntary, non-refundable payments.” That means a viewer should not treat an ordinary Super Chat as a payment that can routinely be refunded or assume that YouTube will reverse it on request.
Keep the distinction clear: a refund is a credit following a charged payment; a cancellation means the order was not charged; and an unauthorized-charge report is a separate process for a payment you say you did not make. A refund status shown in general payment help should be interpreted for the transaction in question, not taken as a promise that an ordinary Super Chat is refundable.

If you are the creator checking Super Chat activity
Creator-side activity is not confirmation of a viewer’s bank refund. On a computer, open YouTube Studio and follow these steps:
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Select Earn.
- Open Supers.
- On the Super Chat and Super Sticker activity card, select See all.
YouTube describes this activity view as covering the past 30 days. It lets a creator review available purchase activity, but it does not verify whether a viewer’s payment method received a refund.

If you did not authorize the charge
An unfamiliar charge is different from a routine refund request. Use YouTube’s unauthorized-charge reporting process if you believe someone made a digital YouTube charge without your permission. YouTube says to report such a charge within 120 days of the transaction. Its listed statement descriptor begins GOOGLE*YouTube; check the billing provider if the purchase was made through Apple.
Before reporting, compare the charge date and amount with the receipt and the accounts or payment methods you use. Do not report a payment as unauthorized solely because it does not appear in one billing account; first check which account and provider handled it.

Troubleshoot a missing or unclear refund record
- No receipt email: Check the inbox and spam folder for the email account used at purchase, then verify the billing account and payment route. Apple may email receipts for applicable Apple-billed transactions.
- No Google Payments entry: Make sure you are signed in to the Google account used for the transaction. If the payment went through Apple, use the Apple billing record and support route instead.
- Status says “Cancelled”: The order was not charged, so a refund credit is not expected. Check the payment method for any separate completed charge before drawing a conclusion.
- Status says “Refunded,” but no credit is visible: YouTube’s general guidance says the credit should appear on the original payment method. Check that method and the relevant billing provider’s transaction record; the Super Chat non-refund policy does not change what a “Refunded” status means for a transaction that has that status.
- You are a creator but cannot find an older purchase: The Studio activity view described by YouTube covers the past 30 days. It is not a long-term viewer billing statement or bank refund confirmation.
