If you want the channel—and, if possible, its current live broadcast—to remain available, check what the host’s cancellation does before confirming, keep the existing feed running until a replacement is live and verified, and do not select YouTube’s END STREAM control unless you intend to end that broadcast.
First, identify what you are canceling
“YouTube streaming service” can mean YouTube itself, but in a 24/7 setup it often means a separate cloud host that sends video to YouTube. Keep these four things distinct:
- Host subscription: the paid plan with the cloud streaming provider.
- Outbound feed: the video the host sends to YouTube.
- YouTube broadcast: the live event viewers watch.
- YouTube channel: the account and its videos, settings, and audience.
Canceling a host subscription does not itself delete a YouTube channel. But it also does not establish whether the host will keep sending video until the paid-through date or stop output immediately. That depends on the provider’s cancellation terms and access window.
How to cancel while protecting continuity
- Identify the biller and billing route. Confirm whether the charge is from the cloud host, YouTube, an app store, or a reseller. Use the cancellation controls for the actual seller; there is no universal menu for unnamed services.
- Check the consequences before you confirm. Look for the renewal cutoff, paid-through date, access end date, and any notice about when broadcast output stops. If the terms do not say whether the feed stops immediately, ask the provider or arrange a verified handoff before canceling.
- Prepare a replacement if uninterrupted viewing matters. Set up the replacement source for the intended YouTube event. In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, verify that the event is receiving video and is visible to viewers before you stop the old source. Compatibility and event behavior depend on the accounts and provider involved; verify your actual setup rather than assuming every host can take over the same event.
- Stop the old feed only after the replacement is confirmed. Use the old provider’s documented stop control. For example, OneStream Live’s help instructions say to open Stream, choose End Broadcast under Ongoing Streams, then confirm. That is a OneStream-specific path, not a universal cancellation menu.
- Leave YouTube’s broadcast controls alone unless ending the event is your goal. Do not click END STREAM merely to cancel a host subscription. A Google/YouTube production guide says, “To end the stream, click END STREAM and stop sending content from your encoder.” The control ends the viewer-facing broadcast; it is not a cloud-host subscription cancellation control.
- Keep the channel account intact. Do not choose channel deletion when you only want to cancel a streaming subscription. The provider’s billing action and YouTube channel management are separate.
Why stopping the feed and ending the broadcast differ
YouTube’s Live Streaming API distinguishes a live stream, which describes how video is sent to YouTube, from a broadcast, which represents the viewer-facing event. Its documentation describes an auto-stop setting under which a broadcast may stop around one minute after the channel owner stops sending video. That timing applies when the setting is enabled; it is not a guarantee about a host’s subscription policy or every broadcast.

YouTube’s API also says a live stream resource cannot be deleted while it is bound to a broadcast that has not completed. Deleting that resource is therefore not a substitute for canceling a host subscription or safely stopping a feed.
Provider-specific details: OneStream Live
OneStream Live’s help center says its 24/7 streaming feature requires an Enterprise plan and allows a maximum duration of 30 days. Its page, updated September 3, 2026, describes setting up and scheduling that feature; it does not establish what happens to the feed when a subscription is canceled. Its separate prerecorded-stream instructions, updated September 21, 2026, document the End Broadcast control for stopping an ongoing stream. Do not infer from that control that canceling any provider’s plan automatically stops output—or that output continues to a billing date.

Choosing a replacement host
If you are changing services, compare the old and new providers on the details that affect your handoff, not just the subscription price:
- Whether cancellation stops output immediately or at the end of a paid period.
- The precise access end date and renewal cutoff.
- Whether the new host can send video to the intended YouTube event, verified in your account.
- Who owns the YouTube channel and stream key, and how billing is handled.
- Where the provider documents its stop controls and how to contact support if output behavior is unclear.
