Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo run a 24/7 rotation from files in a media folder, use a playlist-capable encoder on a computer that stays on, or upload the videos to a cloud service that streams them for you. In either case, the encoder or service sends the video to YouTube Live: create a live event, add YouTube’s stream URL and stream key, start the feed, check its preview, then select Go live in Live Control Room.
Before setting up the rotation, confirm live-stream access and the rights to every video and audio track. YouTube says enabling live streaming for the first time may take up to 24 hours. Its help pages were checked on October 3, 2026; interface labels and eligibility rules may change.
1. Check live access and rights before building the rotation
Enable live streaming early
If your channel has never streamed live, allow up to 24 hours for live-streaming access to become available, according to YouTube’s encoder setup help. Check access before you schedule a launch; enabling it at the last minute may delay your first broadcast.
Clear every item in the folder for live use
Make sure you have the rights to stream each video and every audio track in the rotation. A video being available online, or having a license for it, does not by itself ensure an uninterrupted YouTube live stream. YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. If a match is detected, YouTube may replace the feed with a placeholder and warn you; continuing to show third-party content can result in interruption or termination. A strike can also terminate a stream.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you have licensed third-party content, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube says even licensed material can be interrupted if the channel has not been allowlisted. Read YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance and keep records of permissions. A live playlist is not a workaround for copyright rules.
2. Organize the media folder and decide how it will play
Prepare the files
- Keep the folder limited to videos you intend to include, and give files clear names so you can identify and order them.
- Arrange the intended sequence in a playlist-capable playback source. Folder order alone may not determine playback order.
- Ensure the files remain accessible for the entire broadcast. With a local setup, the computer must be able to read the media continuously.
These are practical organization recommendations, not requirements specified by YouTube. YouTube’s encoder help lists OBS as free, open-source streaming software and Gyre as a cloud tool for streaming prerecorded videos 24/7. The official YouTube page does not document current OBS playlist-source controls or menu labels, so check the current OBS documentation for the exact steps for your version rather than relying on outdated menu instructions.

Choose local playback or hosted playback
A local encoder gives you direct control over the computer and media files, but the computer, storage, power, network, and encoder must remain available. A hosted service moves the always-on playback off your computer; check its current capabilities, media-storage limits, ordering controls, recovery process, terms, and price before choosing it. YouTube identifies OBS and Gyre as options, but its documentation does not provide an independent comparison of their reliability or current pricing.
3. Create the YouTube live event and connect the feed
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream. Menu names and layout can change, so follow the current controls shown in your account.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. YouTube provides these for the event or stream in Live Control Room. The encoder needs them to send video to YouTube.
- Enter them in your encoder’s streaming settings. Use the URL and key exactly as provided. Do not share or publish the stream key: it is a credential that can allow someone else to send content to your channel.
- Load the media rotation. In your playlist-capable playback source, add the intended files and order them. Confirm the source is set to continue playing the playlist as needed; exact controls depend on the encoder and its current version.
- Start output from the encoder. Wait for the incoming feed and preview to appear in Live Control Room.
- Review the preview, then select Go live. After launch, check both the encoder’s output and the YouTube preview to confirm the rotation is playing and the feed remains connected.
YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation distinguishes the broadcast event viewers watch from the stream carrying the audio and video. Its guide to 24/7 live streaming, last updated September 14, 2026, describes keeping a 24/7 feed live while binding a separate broadcast to the same stream. That API model can matter when designing a workflow that reuses a persistent feed; most creators can use Live Control Room without configuring the API directly.

4. Keep the playlist running and plan for interruptions
For a local rotation, continuous playback depends on every part of the setup staying available: computer, storage, power, internet connection, encoder, and playback source. Put the computer somewhere it can run safely for extended periods, prevent sleep from stopping the encoder, and check the feed after launch rather than assuming that a running playlist means YouTube is receiving it.
A cloud service shifts the always-on operation to its provider, but it does not remove the need to check service limits, recovery behavior, and content rights. YouTube’s documentation names Gyre as a cloud-based tool for continuous prerecorded-video streaming; it does not independently establish a provider’s uptime or recovery performance.

Understand archiving limits
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not treat that statement as a guarantee that a longer uninterrupted session will be archived. If you need a durable copy, keep your original media and make a separate recording or archive plan rather than depending on a long live session’s automatic archive.

5. Troubleshoot common setup problems
- Live access is not available: If this is your channel’s first live stream, allow up to 24 hours for enablement and check the channel’s current eligibility in YouTube Studio.
- No preview appears in Live Control Room: Confirm the encoder is sending output and that the stream URL and key match the YouTube event. Check the encoder’s connection and that it is reading the selected media.
- The encoder is running but the playlist stops: Check that the files remain accessible, the playback source contains the intended items, and the computer or storage has not entered sleep or disconnected.
- The stream is interrupted or replaced by a placeholder: Review YouTube’s copyright notice and identify the matched material. Remove content you cannot use; for licensed material, ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting.
- You expected a replay but cannot find one: YouTube’s stated automatic-archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours. A longer session is not covered by that assurance.
Useful checks before launch
- Live streaming is enabled on the channel, with enough lead time for first-time access.
- Every video and audio track is cleared for live use, and relevant licensed content has been addressed with the rights owner.
- The intended playlist order is set and all files are reachable throughout the session.
- The stream key is kept private and entered only in the intended encoder or cloud service.
- The YouTube preview is visible before selecting Go live.
- You have a continuity and archiving plan appropriate to the length of the session.
YouTube’s encoder and copyright help pages were checked October 3, 2026, and do not show publication dates in the retrieved pages. YouTube’s API 24/7 guide displays a September 14, 2026 update date. Features, requirements, labels, and service terms can change.
