1. Schedule the stream and prepare its watch page
Create the upcoming live event in YouTube Studio and make sure its title and description explain what the 24/7 stream contains and when it begins. Scheduling a stream for later may make it appear as upcoming in subscribers’ feeds. On the watch page, viewers can select Notify me to receive a reminder when it is about to begin. Keep the announcement specific: say whether this stream adds to or replaces existing programming, what viewers can expect, and the scheduled start time. The stream’s watch page is the central link to use in your other announcements.
2. Share the link well ahead of launch
YouTube recommends sharing the streaming link at least 48 hours before going live. Use the direct watch-page URL and make the start time clear, including the time zone if your subscribers are spread across regions. [YouTube Help: Promote your live stream]

A concise announcement can follow this pattern:
We’re starting a new 24/7 stream on [date] at [time and time zone]. It features [brief description]. Visit the watch page and choose Notify me for a reminder: [link].
3. Put the same watch-page link where subscribers already find you
Use the channel’s existing touchpoints rather than relying on a single post. YouTube’s promotion guidance suggests connecting social accounts for sharing, embedding the stream URL on a website, and using the channel’s Live section to show upcoming and live events. Subscribers may also see public events in their homepage feed or find them in What to Watch Next; these are possible discovery surfaces, not guaranteed placements. - Channel Live section: useful for subscribers visiting the channel to find upcoming broadcasts.
- Social accounts: share the same watch-page link through accounts you have connected or already use to reach your audience.
- Website: embed or link to the watch page so documentary viewers can find the stream outside YouTube.
YouTube’s guidance does not rank these surfaces by effectiveness. Choose the ones your existing subscribers actually use, and make the link easy to recognize and open.
4. Use a teaser only if the new format needs explanation
A short trailer or teaser can explain what makes the new continuous stream different from your usual uploads. Eligible channels can add a trailer to a scheduled stream’s watch page, where it plays before the event. YouTube’s current help page says this feature is available to channels with more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes; the trailer video must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes long. If you do not meet those conditions, you can still announce the stream with a regular video or message and link to its scheduled watch page. A teaser is optional, not a requirement for scheduling or promoting a standard live stream.
5. Decide whether a Premiere or Live Redirect suits the launch
Premiere
A Premiere can give a launch video its own shareable watch page and scheduled anticipation, but it is a separate viewing event—not a requirement for a 24/7 livestream. YouTube recommends scheduling Premieres at least 24 hours in advance so audiences have an opportunity to see the thumbnail in the subscriptions feed. That advice applies to Premieres, not to the scheduling requirements for a regular live stream. [YouTube Help: YouTube premiere tips]

Live Redirect
If you already have a live broadcast planned to end near the new stream’s launch, Live Redirect can send viewers from the ending stream to a Premiere or another live stream. YouTube says creators sending redirects need more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes; redirecting viewers to another channel also requires that channel’s permission. Use either option only when it fits an actual launch event. Neither is necessary to share the scheduled 24/7 stream’s watch page with subscribers.

What subscribers will—and will not—be notified about
Scheduling gives viewers a place to find the upcoming stream and an option to request a reminder. YouTube says a scheduled stream may appear in subscribers’ feeds, and subscribers may receive a notification about public events. Do not promise that every subscriber will see it or get an alert: feed visibility is conditional, and reminders are viewer-controlled. Keep the announcement focused on the event and the link, not on a guaranteed reach or view count. YouTube’s guidance does not establish a predictable audience or performance lift from any particular announcement surface.
