To show an asking price over a live property tour, add it as an editable text overlay in your streaming software, such as an OBS text source. Put a short property identifier beside the amount, preview it against the footage, and update both when you move to the next listing. If viewers only need the price in chat, post and pin a Live Chat message instead.
Choose where the price should appear

For an asking price that should remain visible while viewers watch the property, use an overlay. OBS explains how to add and configure text sources and how sources work in a scene; it does not provide a real-estate-specific template.
Add a ₹ price overlay in OBS
- Prepare the label. Use the rupee symbol (₹) and an unambiguous amount style. Pair the amount with a short listing name or number, such as “Listing 2 — ₹75,00,000,” so viewers can identify which property the figure refers to. This is an operational suggestion, not a YouTube-required format.
- Open the scene used for the property feed. In OBS, select the scene carrying the live property footage. In the Sources area, add a text source and enter the price label. OBS’s Text Sources guide covers the source options.
- Position and size the text. Place it where it does not obscure an important feature of the property. Check contrast and legibility against the actual footage; a price that blends into a bright wall or disappears over a dark area is not useful.
- Preview before going live. Inspect the scene at the size viewers will watch, and confirm the rupee symbol and amount display correctly. Keep the price as a separate editable text layer rather than baking it into the video, so you can change it between listings.
- Update the label with each property change. Change both the listing identifier and the amount, then verify they match the property now on screen. This helps prevent a correct price from being associated with the wrong home.
Post and pin a price in Live Chat instead
If the price does not need to sit on the footage, use YouTube Live Chat. YouTube Help says, “You can pin your own message or a viewer’s message in Live Chat.” Only the creator can pin a message, and there can be only one pinned message at a time. Replace it as the tour moves to another property. See YouTube Help: Use Live Chat during your live stream or Premiere.
- Open Live Chat for the stream and post a concise message containing the listing identifier and asking price.
- Use the message’s pin control as the creator to pin it.
- When you feature the next property, post and pin its price so the pinned message stays current.
YouTube’s guidance for live streams sets a 200-character limit for chat messages and disallows URLs and HTML tags. Keep the price message plain and short.

Do not confuse a listing price with Super Chat
YouTube’s Live Streaming API includes currency and amount-display fields for Super Chat purchases. Those values describe what a viewer paid for a highlighted chat message; they are not fields for a property’s asking price. Enter the listing amount yourself in the overlay or an ordinary chat message. The API documentation is at Google for Developers: LiveChatMessages.
Keep prices clear and correctly matched
- Use the ₹ symbol and a readable amount format; do not rely on YouTube to format or verify a manually entered property price.
- Include a listing identifier with the amount, then update both together when the featured property changes.
- Check the overlay against the live scene before broadcasting and after changing its text.
- Pin a chat message only if chat visibility suits the presentation; it will not appear over the property footage.
YouTube’s features and the OBS guides explain how to display text or pin a message. They do not validate asking prices or establish a legal disclosure standard for Indian property listings. Confirm listing details and any disclosure obligations separately.

Troubleshooting
The overlay is missing
Check that the text source is present and visible in the selected scene, and that you added it to the scene carrying the property feed. Preview that scene before going live.
The text is hard to read
Move or resize the source and check it over the actual footage. Avoid covering key property details, and confirm the amount remains legible where the background changes.

The displayed price belongs to the previous listing
Update the amount and listing identifier together as the tour changes. Verify both against the property currently on screen before continuing.
The chat price will not pin or is no longer current
Only the creator can pin a message, and only one can be pinned at once. Use the creator account’s pin control and replace the pinned message for the next listing. Keep it within 200 characters and omit URLs and HTML tags.
