The fastest way to activate Tubi is to install the official Tubi app on your television or streaming device, select Sign In, and enter the code shown on the TV at tubitv.com/activate. After you sign in or create a free Tubi account, the app should link to your device and let you start streaming.
Tubi is free to use, although you need internet access, a compatible device, and a Tubi account for this device-linking method. App availability can vary by country, TV model, operating-system version, and device generation.
Before you begin
- Connect your Smart TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, or Roku to the internet.
- Install the official Tubi app from the device’s built-in app store or channel store.
- Have a phone or computer ready to open tubitv.com/activate.
- Sign in to an existing Tubi account or be prepared to create a free one.
- Keep the Tubi app and your device software up to date.
Do not use similarly named third-party activation websites. The official activation page is hosted on Tubi’s own domain.
The universal Tubi activation method
- Open the app store or app launcher on your television or streaming device.
- Search for Tubi.
- Install the official Tubi app and open it.
- Move to Tubi’s left-side navigation menu and select Sign In.
- Write down the activation code displayed on the TV screen.
- On a phone, tablet, or computer, open tubitv.com/activate.
- Sign in to your Tubi account or select the option to register for a new free account.
- Enter the code shown on the TV and choose Activate.
- Return to the TV. Tubi should connect the app to your account and make its library available.
The code is intended for the current sign-in session. If it is rejected or no longer works, reopen Tubi on the television and generate a new code before trying again.

Activate Tubi on a Smart TV
Tubi supports major Smart TV families in the United States, including Samsung, LG, Hisense, Vizio, Sony, and televisions using Android TV or Google TV. Support is not guaranteed for every model, country, or software version.
- Open the TV’s built-in app store or app launcher.
- Search for Tubi and install the official app.
- Launch Tubi and open the left-side menu.
- Select Sign In and note the activation code.
- Visit tubitv.com/activate on another device.
- Sign in or create an account, enter the code, and select Activate.
The names of the app store and menu buttons differ between manufacturers. If Tubi does not appear in the store, check the TV’s country setting, operating-system version, and model-year support. A TV that can run other streaming apps is not automatically guaranteed to support Tubi.
Why your Smart TV may not show Tubi
Availability depends on more than the brand printed on the television. The exact model, operating system, device age, country, and current app-store catalog can all matter. For example, Tubi’s event-specific guidance has identified LG webOS 5.0 or later and Samsung televisions from 2018 onward for particular streaming coverage. That example should not be treated as a universal minimum requirement for every Tubi feature.
If your television is unsupported, an external streaming device may be the simplest solution. An Amazon Fire TV Stick is an optional way to add a supported Tubi platform to a TV that lacks a compatible native app; it is not required if Tubi already works on your television.
Activate Tubi on an Amazon FireStick or Fire TV
- From the Fire TV home screen, open Search or the Apps area.
- Search for Tubi.
- Choose the official Tubi app from the Amazon Appstore and install it.
- Open Tubi and select Sign In.
- Record the activation code displayed on the screen.
- On your phone or computer, go to tubitv.com/activate.
- Sign in or register for Tubi, enter the code, and select Activate.
This process applies to compatible Amazon Fire TV Sticks, Fire TV televisions, and Fire TV Cube devices. Amazon Fire TV hardware has different generations and Fire OS versions, and app availability can vary by region.
If Tubi will not update on Fire TV
- Highlight Tubi on the Fire TV home screen.
- Open the app’s information or options page.
- Choose Update if an update is available.
- Restart Fire TV and try Tubi again.
- If updating does not help, uninstall Tubi and install it again from the Amazon Appstore.
Activate Tubi on Apple TV
Tubi’s U.S. supported-device information identifies Apple TV 4th generation as supported. The normal activation process is:

- Open the App Store on Apple TV.
- Search for Tubi and install the app.
- Launch Tubi and choose its sign-in option.
- Use the code displayed by Tubi at tubitv.com/activate.
- Sign in or register in the browser, enter the code, and select Activate.
Sign in with an iPhone or iPad
On compatible Apple TV setups, Tubi also offers a Sign in with iPhone option:
- Connect the iPhone or iPad and Apple TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Tubi on Apple TV and select Sign in with iPhone.
- Open the Tubi app on the iPhone or iPad.
- Allow the connection when prompted.
- Sign in or register on the mobile device.
This alternate flow avoids manually typing the activation code, but the standard browser method remains available when the phone-assisted option does not appear.

Open the Apple TV App Store, go to Purchased, locate Tubi, and select Update if an update is available.
If you are choosing a new Apple streaming device rather than using an Apple TV you already own, Apple TV 4K is an optional supported-device path for Apple users. Buying one is unnecessary if your current Apple TV is compatible and Tubi is already available.
Activate Tubi on Roku
- From the Roku home screen, open the Streaming Store or search for Tubi.
- Add the official Tubi channel.
- Launch Tubi and select Sign In.
- Note the activation code on the television screen.
- On a phone or computer, visit tubitv.com/activate.
- Sign in or create a Tubi account, enter the code, and select Activate.
Tubi’s latest Roku channel can be installed through the Roku Channel Store. If your TV does not support Tubi but you want a separate Roku platform, a Roku streaming device is an optional solution—not a purchase required for people who already have a compatible Roku device.
Check for Tubi updates on Roku
- Highlight Tubi on the Roku home screen.
- Press the Star button on the Roku remote.
- Select Check for updates.
Supported devices and alternatives
In the United States, Tubi’s supported-device range includes Amazon Fire TV and FireStick, Apple TV 4th generation, Roku, Samsung, LG, Hisense, Vizio, and Sony Smart TVs, Android TV, Google TV, Chromecast, TiVo, Xbox, PlayStation, Xfinity, Cox, mobile devices, and the web. This list is not a promise that every model within a product family will work. Country-specific catalogs and older hardware may differ.

If Tubi is unavailable in your television’s app store, consider these options:
- Use a compatible Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, or Google TV device.
- Watch through a supported web browser or mobile device.
- Cast from a compatible mobile device using Chromecast.
- Use AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad to Apple TV or an AirPlay 2-compatible Smart TV.
Activation versus casting: what is the difference?
Activation links the Tubi app installed on the TV or streaming device to a Tubi account. Once linked, you can normally open Tubi and stream directly from that device.

Casting or AirPlay sends or controls playback from a phone, tablet, or computer. It does not necessarily activate the television’s Tubi app.
Cast Tubi with Chromecast
- Connect the mobile device and Chromecast-compatible television or Chromecast device to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open Tubi on the mobile device.
- Tap the Cast icon.
- Select the television or Chromecast device.
- Choose a title and start playback.
Use AirPlay
For AirPlay, connect the iPhone or iPad and the Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible Smart TV to the same Wi-Fi network. Open Tubi, choose the AirPlay control, select the television, and begin playback.
Tubi Linking from a phone
Tubi also documents a mobile-to-TV linking feature. Its current guidance identifies Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV as supporting Tubi Linking. The same guidance described LG, Vizio, and Samsung support as coming soon, so do not assume the feature is available on those brands without checking the current app behavior.
Fix Tubi activation problems
The code is rejected
- Check that the browser address is exactly tubitv.com/activate.
- Complete Tubi sign-in or registration before submitting the code.
- Compare every character carefully; avoid adding spaces.
- Return to the TV app, reopen the sign-in screen, and generate a fresh code.
- Try the new code in a private browser window or another browser if the page appears stuck.
Do not assume a displayed code remains valid indefinitely. A new code is usually the quickest recovery when the first one expires or is refused.
The TV does not change after activation
- Wait briefly, then close and reopen Tubi.
- Restart the Smart TV or streaming device.
- Check that the device is still connected to the internet.
- Update Tubi and the device operating system or firmware.
- Sign out and repeat the activation process with a new code.
- Uninstall and reinstall the official Tubi app if the problem continues.
Tubi opens but videos will not play
For playback or DRM errors, update the app, restart the app and device, reset the network connection, and try another title. If the device connects to the television through HDMI, check both the cable and the HDMI port. Try a different port or a replacement high-speed HDMI cable only if the problem appears to involve a connected streaming device, display, or DRM handshake. This cable is a troubleshooting option, not a requirement for activating Tubi.

Connected equipment may need to support the applicable digital-rights-management requirements. If changing the cable or port does not help, test the device directly on another compatible television if possible.

- Confirm that you are searching the official app or channel store.
- Check whether your country or region supports Tubi.
- Install pending TV or streaming-device software updates.
- Check the exact model and generation of the device, not only its brand.
- Use a supported external streaming device if the built-in platform is too old.
If an error code remains after these steps, record it and contact Tubi support. Include the device model, operating-system version, country, and the exact error message.

Tubi describes its streaming service as free. The activation procedure does not require a paid Tubi subscription. You still need an internet connection and compatible hardware, and the manufacturer of your TV or streaming device may require its own device account to download apps. In some cases, that manufacturer may ask for account or payment information even though Tubi itself does not charge for downloading its app.
Availability of particular programs, channels, live events, or features can vary by country and may require account sign-in. A free account is also needed for the activation-code linking flow described above.
