A figure often associated with it—“upward of $500 million”—was described in a 2025 Los Angeles Times report as an estimate from roughly two decades earlier for Graceland combined with Elvis merchandising and music royalties. It is not a 2026 appraisal of the estate.
What does the $500 million figure mean?
The Los Angeles Times reported on June 19, 2025, that Graceland, merchandising Elvis’s image, and managing his music royalties had been described as worth “upward of $500 million” two decades earlier. The figure refers to a historical estimate of a combined business context. It does not establish the present value of Elvis Presley’s estate, Graceland alone, or any current owner’s interest.

The same report estimated Graceland’s annual revenue at $10 million. Revenue is money generated over a period, not the market value of a property or business. It cannot be substituted for an appraisal or added to the historical $500 million estimate to calculate an estate value.
What counts as Elvis Presley’s estate?
The answer depends on what is being valued. “Estate” can refer to personal estate and trust interests, while public discussion may also fold in Graceland and the broader commercial business built around Elvis’s name and work. Those are related but not interchangeable scopes.
#1 Best Overall
- Personal estate and trust interests: assets and liabilities belonging to the estate or held through trusts. A net-worth figure would require a current accounting of both, which the cited sources do not provide.
- Graceland: the property, visitor attraction, and associated operations. A property appraisal, an operating-business valuation, and the value of a trust’s interest in either are different measures.
- The broader Presley Business: commercial rights involving Presley’s name, image, likeness, and trademarks, along with certain recorded works and other media. A 2008 CKX, Inc. SEC filing described these components and reported an ownership split at that time; it is historical, not evidence of today’s ownership.
The 2008 filing reported that CKX held an 85% interest in the Presley Business and the Promenade Trust held 15%. A separate 2009 CKX, Inc. SEC filing described Graceland as operating under a 90-year lease with the Promenade Trust. These dated disclosures help explain why the value of the broader business cannot automatically be treated as the value of the estate or trust; they do not establish the current ownership or lease structure.
What do the other published figures tell us?
| Figure | What it describes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| “Upward of $500 million” | A combined Graceland, merchandising, and music-royalty business estimate from roughly two decades before the Los Angeles Times report published June 19, 2025. | A current estate, trust, Graceland, or rights-portfolio valuation. |
| $10 million annually | Graceland annual revenue estimated in the June 19, 2025 Los Angeles Times report. | Graceland’s sale price, profit, or asset value. |
| Approximately 564,000 visitors per year | Average annual attendance over the five years preceding CKX, Inc.’s 2009 SEC filing. | Current attendance or current revenue. |
| 13.5 acres | Graceland acreage described in CKX, Inc.’s 2009 SEC filing. | A valuation of the property. |
| 13.8 acres | Graceland grounds acreage in National Park Service documentation for the National Register, published in 1991. | A valuation; the different acreage figure comes from a different source document. |
The acreage and visitor numbers are historical descriptions, not inputs that by themselves yield a current property or estate value. The National Park Service’s 1991 National Register documentation describes Graceland’s grounds as 13.8 acres; the 2009 SEC filing gives 13.5 acres.

Does the 2024 Graceland foreclosure case affect its value?
No property valuation can be inferred from the $3.8 million figure associated with the attempted foreclosure. The Associated Press reported in 2025 that the amount appeared in a public notice connected to a fraudulent foreclosure scheme; the attempted sale was stopped and the scheme was prosecuted. That alleged loan amount is not evidence of valid debt, Graceland’s value, or the estate’s net worth.

Based on the available cited reporting and historical filings, Elvis Presley’s estate does not have a substantiated current consolidated dollar value that can responsibly be stated. The $500 million figure is an older business estimate, and Graceland’s reported annual revenue is an income figure—not an appraisal. A defensible current net-worth estimate would need to define which assets and rights are included, identify their present ownership, and account for liabilities.
