Whoopi Goldberg reportedly earns $6 million a year as moderator and co-host of The View, according to 2026 reporting. That is an estimate attributed to people familiar with her contract—not a salary Goldberg has confirmed or a public payroll figure.
What is Whoopi Goldberg’s reported salary on The View?
Complex reported on August 5, 2026, that journalist Yashar Ali put Goldberg’s annual pay at $6 million, citing three people familiar with her contract. Complex also noted that Page Six had reported she took a pay cut before Season 29, while remaining the panel’s highest-paid host. The reported $6 million figure is therefore best treated as a current estimate, not a verified contract amount. Complex

No contract, payroll record or on-the-record official salary confirmation is cited in these reports. The exact amount she currently receives has not been independently established.
Did Goldberg reveal her paycheck?
No. Speaking on Keke Palmer’s podcast, Goldberg said, “The check. I love the check,” when asked what she liked most about The View. When asked whether viewers could imagine her pay, she replied, “No, no, you can’t. Trust me. You can’t. Listen, you would be shocked.” She did not give a dollar amount. TV Insider

Goldberg also cautioned against assuming published celebrity-pay figures are accurate: “The truth of the matter is, very few of us are actually making the kind of money you’re reading about.” That comment is a warning about reported earnings, not confirmation of any particular estimate. TheWrap
How have reports about her salary changed?
Published figures span different years and sources, so they should not be combined into a single confirmed salary history. Parade recapped earlier estimates alongside 2026 coverage describing a pay cut. Parade

| Publication period | Reported figure or description | What the report establishes |
|---|---|---|
| 2016 | $5 million to $6 million a year | An estimate attributed to Variety and recapped by Parade; not an audited salary. |
| 2022 | $8 million a year | A figure attributed to The Sun and recapped by Parade; it is a separate report, not confirmation of later pay. |
| 2026 | “Mid-seven-figure salary” after a pay cut | Page Six’s description, as recapped by Parade; it does not provide an exact current amount. |
| 2026 | $6 million a year | Complex’s report citing Yashar Ali, who attributed it to three people familiar with Goldberg’s contract. |
The apparent differences may reflect timing, differing estimates or the reported pay cut; the available accounts do not reconcile them. A weaker 2025 report repeated an $8 million claim attributed to a 2024 report, but it does not establish Goldberg’s current compensation. Breitbart News
