Other widely cited figures place WandaVision and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law at about $225 million each, but those reports are not equally documented, so they do not establish a definitive ranking of the MCU’s most expensive shows.
What are the reported costs of the biggest MCU shows?
The strongest documented figure in the available reporting is for Secret Invasion. Forbes reported that filings for Disney subsidiary Grass-Fed Productions UK recorded $224.3 million in costs through September 30, 2023. TVLine had reported $212 million for the series in August 2023, before that later filing-based account appeared. The two figures are different reporting snapshots or measures; the sources do not establish that one formally replaced the other.
TVLine also cited reports of $225 million apiece for WandaVision and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Those are press-reported estimates, not comparable final totals drawn from financial statements in the cited coverage.

Why does Secret Invasion have more than one figure?
A budget and a later reported cost are not necessarily the same thing. A budget can refer to an approved or publicized production estimate, while a financial statement may reflect spending recorded over a specified period, including costs incurred later in production or post-production. TVLine’s $212 million report predates the filing period cited in the later Forbes account.

Forbes also separates Secret Invasion’s gross reported costs from net spending. The filings showed $37.5 million incurred in the year ending September 30, 2023, and a $45.5 million reimbursement. After that reimbursement, Forbes reported net spending of $178.8 million. These figures answer different questions: $224.3 million is the reported cost total, while $178.8 million is net of the reported reimbursement. Forbes also said the filings described the series as forecast to be over its production budget.
Why are MCU show budgets hard to compare?
- Disclosure varies. TVLine noted that Marvel series budgets are difficult to establish. The unusual visibility of Secret Invasion’s costs stems from UK filming and financial reporting by its production entity; that does not mean every MCU series has equivalent public filings.
- The numbers may use different accounting bases. A press-reported budget estimate, a period’s recorded costs, a gross total, and a net figure after reimbursement are not interchangeable.
- The reporting dates differ. An earlier figure may not include costs recorded in a later filing period.
- A total alone does not show the production scale per episode. A per-episode average would require comparable episode counts and consistent cost definitions. The cited budget reports do not provide a consistent basis for ranking the shows that way.
Is there a definitive most-expensive MCU series?
Not from these figures alone. Secret Invasion has the strongest documented high-end cost figure in the sources cited here, while WandaVision and She-Hulk are often reported at similar amounts without the same filing-based support. That makes a precise portfolio-wide ranking uncertain.

For comparison, Disney’s official materials describe Echo as a five-episode series released on Disney+ and Hulu, but the cited official pages do not disclose a budget. Its episode count is not evidence of its production cost.
