YouTube’s official documentation does not specify a maximum number of upcoming live streams you can schedule. The often-cited limit of 10 applies to streams that are active at the same time—not to future scheduled events.
Scheduled streams and active streams are different limits
A scheduled stream is an event set up for a future time. YouTube Studio separates these from broadcasts that are currently live. The count of upcoming events is not the same as the number of broadcasts running concurrently.
YouTube Help states that a channel can have 10 active streams, and each stream key can have 3 active streams. Both limits apply at the same time. These figures are concurrency limits, not a published cap on how many events you can put on your upcoming schedule. YouTube Help: Create a live stream with an encoder
What YouTube documents about scheduling

Google’s Live Streaming API documentation describes creating multiple scheduled broadcasts and binding them to one reusable stream configuration when the events use the same streaming settings. That supports scheduling a series, but it does not establish an unlimited capacity or publish a maximum schedule count. YouTube Live Streaming API documentation
How to plan a series of broadcasts
- For future events: Create and review each event in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, then check the upcoming list for its scheduled time and details.
- For simultaneous broadcasts: Plan within the 10-active-stream channel limit and the 3-active-stream-per-key limit. Both apply when streams are active.
- For recurring events with the same settings: The API supports binding multiple scheduled broadcasts to one live stream configuration. This is an API workflow, not a statement that every creator needs to use the API.
A separate restriction: creating streams in a 24-hour period
YouTube also says it limits how many live streams a channel can create in a 24-hour period. The error guidance reviewed does not state the numerical allowance. This is a separate restriction from both the concurrent active-stream limits and the unpublished maximum for upcoming scheduled events. YouTube Help: Live streaming errors
