Emma Stone has won two Oscars, both for Actress in a Leading Role: for La La Land at the 2017 ceremony and Poor Things at the 2024 ceremony.

Emma Stone’s Oscar wins

Ceremony Film Category Result
89th Academy Awards (2017) La La Land Actress in a Leading Role Winner
96th Academy Awards (2024) Poor Things Actress in a Leading Role Winner

The Academy’s records list Stone as the winner for La La Land at the 2017 ceremony and for Poor Things at the 2024 ceremony.

Her later nomination did not add to her Oscar total

At the 98th Academy Awards, held in 2026, Stone was nominated for Actress in a Leading Role for Bugonia. She did not win: Jessie Buckley won the category. The Academy’s database says its records are complete through that ceremony, presented March 15, 2026. Academy Awards database and ceremony records

Why Oscar counts can be confusing

Ceremony year and film release year differ

Oscar wins are commonly identified by the year of the ceremony, not the year the honored film was released. The 96th ceremony took place on March 10, 2024, recognizing films released in 2023.

Acting wins are different from producer nominations

Stone has also been named as a producer nominee for Best Picture for Poor Things and Bugonia. Those are producer nominations, not additional wins for acting, and they do not change her two-Oscar total.
