The 2011 Hunter × Hunter anime has 148 episodes in total. Netflix lists the series in the U.S., but its catalog and episode selection vary by country and can change. Check your local Netflix episode list to confirm how far it goes; the public listing does not reliably show a complete episode count.
How many episodes are in Hunter × Hunter?
The 2011 television adaptation runs from Episode 1 through Episode 148. VIZ identifies the series as 148 episodes, and its final listed release covers Episodes 124–148. That is the anime’s total—not a guarantee that every Netflix region currently carries every episode.

This answer refers to the 2011 adaptation listed by Netflix as Hunter X Hunter (2011), not the separate 1999 anime. The Netflix listing displays the year 2014, which is a catalog label rather than the adaptation’s full broadcast run. Netflix’s title page and VIZ’s series page identify the relevant title and episode total.
How many episodes does Netflix have?
There is no single episode count that applies to every Netflix country. Netflix has an official U.S. listing for Hunter X Hunter (2011), but its public page does not reliably expose the full playable episode list. VIZ’s 148-episode total describes the series; it does not prove that all 148 episodes are available on Netflix in every market or account.

Netflix explains that titles can be unavailable in a region because of rights and that licensed titles may leave the service. Its availability help page and licensing explanation describe why a listing, episode selection, or availability can differ by country and over time. The U.S. anime-series catalog includes the title, but a catalog entry is not a substitute for checking playback in your own account.
Audio and subtitle options can also vary by country and may not be available for every episode.

Why does Netflix show different seasons?
Netflix’s season labels are a catalog presentation choice, not a reliable guide to the anime’s original production structure. Netflix may group the same 148 episodes into different numbers of streaming seasons in different regions or after catalog updates. Other guides may treat the show as one completed television series or organize it by story arc.
For completeness, use the episode numbers rather than the season labels. A “Season 1” or “Season 6” label does not by itself show whether your local catalog includes Episode 148.

Hunter × Hunter episode and story-arc guide
This arc guide follows the 2011 anime’s episode numbering. These are story divisions, not official Netflix season labels.
| Story arc | Episodes |
|---|---|
| Hunter Exam | 1–21 |
| Heavens Arena | 22–36 |
| Yorknew City / Phantom Troupe | 37–58 |
| Greed Island | 59–75 |
| Chimera Ant | 76–136 |
| 13th Hunter Chairman Election | 137–148 |
Does Episode 148 complete the story?
Episode 148 concludes the 2011 television adaptation, not the entire Hunter × Hunter story. The manga continues beyond the anime’s ending. If you want to continue in the original manga, see VIZ’s official Hunter × Hunter manga page; this guide does not assign an unverified chapter number as the handoff point.

Are the movies included in the episode count?
No. Phantom Rouge and The Last Mission are feature films, separate from the 148-episode television series. Their availability on Netflix must be checked separately. VIZ discusses the films in its movie-bundle announcement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to check your Netflix episode count
- Sign in to Netflix in the country where you plan to watch.
- Search for Hunter X Hunter (2011) and open the title page, rather than relying on a search-engine snippet.
- Open the episode list. The control may be labelled “Episodes & More” or something similar, depending on the app, device, and current interface.
- Check the highest episode number shown. If the listing ends before 148, your local Netflix selection does not show the complete numbered run.
- Play an episode near the end of the list to confirm it is available to your account; note the country and date because catalogs can change.
A logged-in account is a more useful check than a public search result: account profile maturity settings and regional licensing can affect what you can see or play.
