Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, officially titled The Culling Game: Part 1, has 12 numbered episodes. The official schedule lists them as episodes 48–59; a separately scheduled recap does not count toward that total.
How the 12-episode count is confirmed
The official season schedule divides the numbered run into episodes 48–54, followed by a separately labeled intermission, then episodes 55–59. That is seven story episodes plus five, for 12 in total. The official finale announcement independently identifies episode 59 as Season 3 episode 12.

Does the recap count as an episode?
No. The schedule lists the February 19 intermission/recap separately from the numbered story episodes. The season’s episode numbers continue from 54 to 55 around that broadcast, so the recap is not a thirteenth numbered episode.
Why the premiere can be mistaken for extra episodes
The Japanese broadcast opened on January 8, 2026, with episodes 1 and 2 shown together in a one-hour special. That was a double premiere, not an extra installment: the season still has 12 numbered episodes. The schedule places the finale on March 26, 2026.

What “The Culling Game: Part 1” means
The 12-episode figure applies to this released season installment, not necessarily to the full Culling Game manga storyline. The subtitle explicitly marks it as Part 1. For readers who want the source story, Shueisha’s listings describe Jujutsu Kaisen volume 17 as bringing the Culling Game into development, while its volume 18 listing describes Yuji seeking Kinji Hakari’s cooperation in the game.
Where to watch: check your local catalog
The official Japanese broadcast and on-demand listing names the MBS/TBS 28-station network and services including Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video. Those listings are for Japan and do not establish availability in other countries. Crunchyroll separately announced the January 8, 2026 premiere at 9:00 a.m. for its audience. Streaming rights and catalogs vary by territory and date, so check the service available where you live.

Finale runtime
The official announcement describes episode 59, “Sendai Colony,” as a special 27-minute broadcast. That runtime applies to the finale announcement; it should not be taken as the length of every episode.
