Disney+ downloads generally stay available while your subscription is active, as long as the device connects to the internet and accesses Disney+ at least once every 30 days. That is a check-in requirement, not a universal countdown that makes every download expire 30 days after you save it. Some titles can have separate limits or become unavailable sooner.
Do Disney+ downloads expire after 30 days?
Usually, no. Disney’s Downloads on Disney+ help page says downloads remain on the device while the subscription is active and the device connects to the internet at least once every 30 days. In practice, reconnect and open Disney+ periodically so it can verify access.
The 30-day interval is not a promise that every saved film or episode will remain available for that long. Disney says some downloads may have a limited availability period. Its Subscriber Agreement also characterizes downloads as temporary and says availability can depend on the title, subscription tier, location, rights and other restrictions.
| Situation | What to expect |
|---|---|
| The device has been offline for less than 30 days | Downloads generally remain available if the subscription and titles are still eligible. |
| The device has not connected to Disney+ for at least 30 days | Downloads may stop working until the device reconnects and Disney+ verifies access. |
| A title has a separate limit or its rights change | That title may become unavailable before the next 30-day check-in. |
| You log out | Disney+ removes downloads from that device. |
| The subscription ends or becomes inactive | Offline access is not guaranteed; downloads are not permanent copies. |
What can make a download stop working sooner?
- Title or rights restrictions: A title may have its own time limit, leave the service, or become unavailable because of licensing or location rules.
- Subscription or plan changes: Downloads depend on having an eligible, active subscription. Disney does not publish a universal grace period after cancellation.
- Logging out: Signing out removes downloaded content from the device.
- Device changes: Reinstalling the app, clearing its data or running short on storage may remove a saved file. Check the device and app before assuming the 30-day interval caused it.
- Travel across borders: Availability can vary by territory. Test playback before departure rather than assuming a download will keep working after the device reconnects abroad.
How to keep downloads ready for a trip
- Download the film or episodes while connected to the internet.
- Wait for the app to show that each download is complete.
- Open Downloads and start playback while still online. Confirm the audio, subtitles and episodes you need are available.
- If the device has been offline for several weeks, reconnect it and open Disney+ shortly before leaving.
- Do not log out after downloading. Check that the device has enough free storage for the selected video quality.
How to download and watch offline
Download a film or episode
- Open the Disney+ app on a supported mobile device.
- Open the film or series details page and tap the Download button, usually shown as a downward arrow.
- For a series, choose episodes individually or use a season-download option if the app offers one for that title.
- Wait for the completed-download indicator, then check the title in Downloads.
Play a download
- Open the Disney+ app and tap Downloads.
- Select a film or other single title and press Play.
- For a series, open the series and select the episode you want.
Which plans and devices support downloads?
Disney’s Help Center page, dated June 4, 2026, lists downloads for these plans or bundles: Disney+ Premium; Disney+, Hulu Bundle Premium; Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Bundle Premium; and Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select Bundle Legacy. The same help page lists supported devices as iPhone and iPad, Apple Vision Pro, Android phones and tablets, Amazon Fire tablets, and Meta Quest. It says downloads are not currently supported on TV-connected devices, computers, or Windows 10 and Windows 11 tablets. This is about downloading for offline playback; it does not prevent streaming on other supported devices.
How many devices can store downloads?
Eligible subscribers can store downloads on up to 10 supported mobile devices, subject to available storage. That is a device limit, not unlimited capacity on each device. The space required varies with the length and number of titles and the download quality. Disney lists Standard, Medium and High quality options: Standard uses the least storage and downloads fastest, while High uses the most storage and takes longest.

Check the likely causes in this order:
- Reconnect the device to the internet, open Disney+ and allow it to verify the account.
- Confirm you are signed in to the same active account and check whether your plan still supports downloads.
- Look in Downloads for the title and check whether the app indicates a title-specific restriction.
- Consider whether you logged out, reinstalled the app, cleared app data, or the device removed files to free space.
- Check whether the title is still available in your current location. If it remains unavailable, delete it and download it again while online, if the title is still eligible.
If the Download button is missing, possible reasons include an ineligible plan, a title that cannot be downloaded, an unsupported device or insufficient storage. If those do not explain it, confirm that the app is current and that you are signed in; these are general troubleshooting checks, not guaranteed fixes.
