How Jon Moxley and Renee Paquette met
The clearest published timeline places their relationship in their WWE years: TV Insider’s Scott Fishman reported in March 2026 that they got together in 2013. That establishes the workplace context and year, but it is not an account of their precise first meeting. The available interviews do not say where they first encountered one another or what happened on that occasion.
The early Orlando night they remembered
In a Valentine’s Day 2021 edition of Paquette’s Oral Sessions, later transcribed by Wrestling Inc., Paquette described an early evening in Orlando when the two spent the night talking in a hotel room, with drinks and snacks she liked. She recalled that “Then, we’ve been together ever since then.” Her account makes the conversation a meaningful early moment in their relationship, but does not give its date or definitively identify it as their first date.
Asked about the connection, Moxley described it figuratively: “Like, we were married the moment we met each other, basically.” Paquette said she could not explain it more precisely: “I don’t really have an answer. It just is.” These were their descriptions of the bond, not a claim that they literally married when they met.

Who said “I love you” first?
Paquette said Moxley said it first, answering: “It was Jon, 100 percent.” She characterized the moment as casual rather than a formal declaration. The account appears in the Oral Sessions conversation as reproduced by Wrestling Inc., which asks quote users to credit both the podcast and its transcription.
When did they get married?
TV Insider reports that Moxley and Paquette married in 2017. The interview and other cited accounts do not establish the exact wedding date, venue, ceremony details or guest list, so those specifics cannot be responsibly added to the story.

How they describe married life
In the 2026 TV Insider interview, Paquette described a marriage that leaves room for each person’s work and interests as well as the life they share: “It’s nice to sort of have our own world and then have the stuff we come together on.” She also discussed parenting their daughter alongside demanding wrestling careers; Moxley said he focuses on family when he is at home. Their description is of balancing separate professional lives with family time, rather than treating the relationship as a single shared routine.
