Iliza Shlesinger says she met chef Noah Galuten on a dating website. In a Glamour interview, she recalled a wry first message: “I think my opening line was, what I write here won’t be the deciding factor if you like me.” The interview does not identify the dating site.
How Iliza Shlesinger met Noah Galuten
In Glamour’s Fan Fact Check interview, Shlesinger confirmed the premise that they met through a dating website and joked that a profile bio would not decide whether two people liked each other. Her opening-line story is her recollection from the interview, not a separately verified message or screenshot. No platform is named, so claims that they met on a particular service are unsupported by this account.
When did they start dating and get married?
| Date | What is established |
|---|---|
| Summer 2016 | Shlesinger said, “I guess we did begin dating in the summer.” The interviewer’s prompt specifies July 2016. Glamour |
| 2017 | Shlesinger announced her engagement, according to Us Weekly’s wedding report. |
| May 12, 2018 | They married at South Park City Center in downtown Los Angeles, according to Us Weekly, which published its report the following day. |
Shlesinger also remembered the summer by mentioning that Galuten reminds her it was when she tried wearing cut-off jeans to tan her legs. That detail adds context to her recollection of when they began dating; it does not identify the dating website.
What does Good on Paper have to do with their relationship?
Good on Paper draws on a painful dating experience involving a different man, not Galuten. In a June 24, 2021 Glamour interview, Shlesinger said the film’s antagonist was inspired by real-life events and described that person as a friend before they dated. The interview separately identifies Galuten as the man she married in 2018. The film’s story should not be presented as an account of her relationship with her husband.
