What did Thomas’s extended family say?
In a statement published by CKN Nigeria on January 18, the extended family said members had not been told that Thomas was ill or scheduled for surgery, and learned of her death afterward. The statement also disputed public claims concerning the family’s responsibility and burial arrangements. This is the family’s position, not a legal finding, and the available reports do not resolve who knew what or when.
