How many Netflix views did Straw get?
Netflix reported 103 million views for Straw in its first-half 2025 Engagement Report, published July 17, 2025. The figure places the film among the period’s most-watched Netflix movies, but it is a first-half report figure, not a verified calendar-year total.

In Netflix’s weekly chart covering the week of June 9, Straw added 48.9 million views. Netflix Tudum’s June 17, 2025 account called that the biggest movie week of 2025 at that point and the biggest week for a 2025 launch. The film was No. 1 on the English Films list and appeared in the Top 10 in all countries, according to the same weekly report. That was a weekly result, not an annual ranking.
Was Straw Netflix’s biggest movie of 2025?
Not according to the official summary figures available for the full year. In Netflix’s first-half report, Back in Action led the relevant film comparison with 165 million views, ahead of Straw at 103 million. Other films listed in that first-half summary included The Life List with 96 million and Nonnas with 58 million views.

Netflix’s second-half 2025 report, published January 20, 2026, said KPop Demon Hunters reached 482 million views and became the most-watched Netflix title over a six-month period. That second-half figure and Straw’s first-half figure cover different reporting periods, so they should not be treated as a like-for-like annual ranking. Netflix’s published summaries do not by themselves settle which movie had the most views across the entire 2025 calendar year.

What does Netflix mean by “views”?
Netflix defines a view as total hours viewed divided by a title’s runtime. As the second-half report description puts it: “This report measures engagement by views (total hours viewed divided by runtime)”. A view is therefore not a count of distinct people: repeated viewing can contribute more hours, and the calculation converts those hours into runtime-equivalent views.

Netflix’s Q2 2025 shareholder letter says title views are based on the first 91 days after release. Titles with fewer than 91 days in the relevant reporting context are marked, and their data runs from launch through July 13, 2025. Release timing and the window counted can therefore affect comparisons. The shareholder letter also notes that even Netflix’s biggest titles, with tens of millions of views, account for less than 1% of viewing in the period—useful context for interpreting one film’s reach against the service as a whole.

What the figures establish—and what they do not
- Straw was a major Netflix hit, with 103 million reported views in the first-half 2025 report.
- It did not lead the first-half film figures cited here: Back in Action had 165 million views in that same report.
- Netflix reported a much larger 482 million views for KPop Demon Hunters in the second half, describing it as its six-month most-watched title.
- The June weekly superlative for Straw applied to the week covered by that chart and was explicitly true “at that time,” not a full-year result.
- These summary figures do not supply a definitive combined calendar-year ranking of all Netflix movies in 2025.
