In Blair’s account, the move into sex work followed a search for work that suited her interests and financial needs—not a decision to pursue politics as a career.
What was Jade Blair doing before sex work?
PerthNow reported that Blair was a Queensland university student studying politics and also working in retail. She said she enjoyed her studies and was good at them, but did not want to enter the profession. At the same time, she was saving for a house deposit and worried that her income would make getting a home loan difficult. The report describes her concern; it does not establish that a lender assessed or rejected her application.
Blair explained her motivation in the video cited by PerthNow: “I’m a sex worker and I got into this job for the reason most people start a job — I needed money.” She also said she wanted to increase her income but had not found a university path or trade she wanted to pursue.
How did she move into sex work?
PerthNow’s account describes a sequence of attempts to find additional income. Blair considered side hustles such as dog walking and chocolate tasting, then tried a sugar-baby arrangement. The article recounts that her first client arrangement lasted several hours and did not proceed to the activity she had expected.

The report says Blair later began making OnlyFans content and meeting clients. It describes her as working with an established company for a few years before moving to independent work. This chronology is the account in the 2023 profile, not an independently verified biography.
How did Blair describe the decision?
Blair framed the choice as personal, saying, “Finally, I thought — I really like (sex) why not give it a go?” PerthNow also quoted her saying, “I love it, I’m going to do it until I can’t anymore — I really think I’ve found my path.” The article presents her as enjoying the work and choosing it as a career; her experience should not be treated as representative of sex workers generally.
