A $210 million fortune estimate later attributed to Forbes refers to 2020—not her wealth today—and does not establish that she is currently Asia’s richest trans woman.
How did Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip build her business profile?
The best-supported account begins with JKN Global Group, the media and content company she built. Its expansion into internationally recognized brands brought her greater visibility, culminating in JKN’s acquisition of the Miss Universe Organization from IMG Worldwide in October 2022.
JKN presented Miss Universe as a strategic addition to its portfolio. That helps explain the company’s rationale for the deal, but it is not evidence that the purchase increased Jakrajutatip’s personal wealth by any specific amount.
What did the Miss Universe acquisition cost?
Contemporary coverage in 2022 reported a purchase price of US$20 million. JKN’s filing in Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission archive documents the acquisition. The reported price is a transaction value for the organization; it should not be treated as Jakrajutatip’s personal payment, the value of her stake, or a measure of her net worth.

| Figure | What it refers to | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| US$20 million | Reported price for JKN’s acquisition of the Miss Universe Organization from IMG Worldwide in 2022, according to contemporary coverage. | Jakrajutatip’s personal contribution, ownership share, or resulting personal wealth. |
| US$210 million | A 2020 net-worth estimate that a secondary report published in 2023 attributed to Forbes. | Her current net worth or a current ranking among trans women in Asia or worldwide. |
Where does the “richest transwoman in Asia” claim come from?
A secondary report published in 2023 said Forbes had estimated Jakrajutatip’s wealth at US$210 million in 2020 and ranked her third among transgender people worldwide at that time. The original Forbes item was not identified in the available account, so the number is best described as a historical estimate reported secondhand—not a verified current valuation.
Net worth is not interchangeable with a company’s revenue, market value, or the price paid for an acquisition. Without a current, transparent estimate of Jakrajutatip’s personal assets and liabilities, the older figure cannot establish either her present fortune or a present-day regional ranking. “Richest transwoman in Asia” is therefore an unverified current superlative, not a conclusion supported by that 2020 estimate.

JKN’s corporate position and regulatory history make it especially important not to project an old estimate forward. They do not, by themselves, determine Jakrajutatip’s personal net worth, but they are relevant context for a story that ties her fortune to the company’s rise.
Thailand SEC civil sanctions
In an announcement dated 22 April 2025, Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission said it imposed civil sanctions on JKN and Jakrajutatip over a 22 January 2024 clarification concerning online reports that JKN had sold Miss Universe to a Mexican investor. The regulator said the published information was false or might be materially misleading. It reported a total civil penalty of 4,124,078 baht for the two sanctioned parties.

Corporate-bond investment case
The Associated Press reported on 26 November 2025 that a Bangkok court issued an arrest warrant after Jakrajutatip missed a hearing in a case involving an alleged 30-million-baht investment in JKN corporate bonds. The allegations concern claimed deception and loss; the report describes a legal proceeding, not a finding of guilt. AP said the case was rescheduled, and its report does not establish the subsequent outcome.
