House of Guinness currently has a 90% Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer score, based on 46 Fresh and 5 Rotten critic reviews, with a displayed average rating of 7.20/10. That is the series page’s tally as of October 5, 2026—not a verified score from the show’s premiere day. Rotten Tomatoes’ live listing can change as reviews are added or its tally is updated.
What the 90% Rotten Tomatoes score means
The 90% is the share of counted critic reviews classified as Fresh: Rotten Tomatoes lists 46 Fresh reviews and 5 Rotten reviews. The same page displays a 7.20/10 average rating. These are different measures: the percentage reflects the Fresh-versus-Rotten classification, while the average is the mean rating shown for rated reviews. Neither figure is an audience score.
Because the tally is live, the figures are a dated snapshot. The series listing showed them on October 5, 2026; check the page for the current total if you are reading later.
Was 90% the show’s debut score?
That cannot be established from the current listing. House of Guinness premiered on September 25, 2025, but the available Rotten Tomatoes pages do not establish its score on that date. The 90% figure should therefore be described as the score at the time of checking, not as the score the series launched with. Rotten Tomatoes’ Season 1 page lists the premiere date.

What is House of Guinness about?
Netflix describes the eight-episode, TV-MA drama as a story set in Dublin in 1868. After the death of the Guinness patriarch, his four children face questions about the family brewery’s future. Netflix lists the series on its platform.
The show is historical fiction inspired by real Guinness family figures, not a guarantee that every event or relationship is historically exact. Netflix Tudum says history is a starting point for creator Steven Knight’s interpretation. Actor Anthony Boyle described its tone to Tudum as “playful, funny, smoky, sexy,” with a family story at its center. Netflix Tudum’s cast guide discusses the show’s historical basis; its Steven Knight feature includes Boyle’s description.
